ICE has quietly stopped publicly listing thousands of detainees with final removal orders in its online locator system, making it far harder for lawyers and family members to track them down. The agency removed those detainees from the system on September 15, according to three current and former ICE officials who spoke to the AP anonymously, and multiple immigration lawyers confirmed their clients vanished from the system that week. Nearly 16,000 people booked into ICE detention in July, more than a third of all bookings, had final removal orders, and advocates say hiding their locations makes it easier to speed deportations by cutting off last-minute legal challenges like habeas petitions. The change doesn’t apply to detainees in Adelanto, California, or temporary facilities in Minneapolis, New York City, or suburban Chicago, where courts have ordered ICE to keep listings current. Lawyers say the practice has no real precedent, with one calling it “just another iteration of disappearing people,” and it’s already affecting cases including eight Somali men held at Guantánamo Bay.
A Venezuelan delivery driver shot by an ICE officer in Austin says he’s in severe pain with a bullet still lodged near his spine, after being taken into detention rather than given full medical care. Wilber Rafael Garcés Pérez, 28, was delivering a DoorDash order Sunday when an ICE vehicle rammed his car and an officer got out and shot him three times, hitting him once in the back; his lawyer says he spent the night on the floor of a cold detention room roughly 140 miles from Austin. Video of the shooting sparked protests where demonstrators say they were hit with tear gas or chemical spray, and Austin’s Democratic mayor called the shooting infuriating. DHS says Garcés Pérez, who has lived in the US for two years and had an outstanding removal order, is in stable condition and in custody pending deportation, while his lawyers have filed a habeas petition arguing he qualifies for a crime-victim visa. The shooting comes amid what local officials describe as a recent surge in ICE agents acting unilaterally rather than relying on state troopers for stops.
A US citizen in Evanston, Illinois was hospitalized with head and facial injuries Sunday after federal agents mistook him for someone else during a fugitive investigation. Police found the man on the ground surrounded by people helping him, and an agent on scene said he’d resisted being detained for fingerprinting before agents determined he wasn’t their target and released him; an officer also noticed blood on the agent’s hands. The incident happened the same day ICE shot and wounded a Venezuelan man in Austin, and came amid a broader immigration crackdown that saw a record 50,000 arrests in July, more than half of people with no criminal record. DHS did not immediately respond to requests for comment, and it’s unclear which specific federal agency the man identified himself as belonging to. The episode adds to a string of incidents this year involving federal agents injuring or killing bystanders, including the fatal shootings of US citizens Renee Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis in January.
A communications line failure at an FAA facility in Philadelphia triggered a ground stop and thousands of flight delays and cancellations across the Northeast before service resumed Monday evening. The primary line failed Monday morning, and when systems tried switching to the backup, officials discovered a fiber-optic cable had been accidentally severed by a construction crew, with Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and Amtrak initially disputing whose crew was responsible. The disruption hit Newark, LaGuardia, JFK, Philadelphia, and Boston airports, and comes from the same facility blamed for major Newark meltdowns in spring 2025. It coincided with a new GAO report finding the FAA hasn’t finished risk assessments for threats like spoofing and jamming and lacks real-time detection systems, prompting Sen. Ron Wyden to call the vulnerabilities “a major threat to US national security.” The GAO issued nine recommendations, all of which the Department of Transportation agreed to adopt.

word by word!
Thank you, Sam, Scott, and team, for doing this painstaking but vital research! It is the only way we can get the truth out, and get the regime out for good!
Ditto that: thank you for publishing the REAL NEWS. Kickin' ass, takin' names!
Great to have a team that knows what to do and how to do it!
What I would like to know: Are there bank regulations which require a bank, in this case Capital One, debanking a person or buisiness for possible money laundering the obligation to report that information? Or, was the information available, but no media source sought it out? In either case, this is no way to run a country.
A Bank must notify clients of any suspicious activity by filing SARReports and is required to cancel the accounts. Look for the SAR.
Amazing! Thank you Sam, Scott and everyone on the team! I swear, I suspect if you look closely at ANY of trump’s dealings, you’ll find corruption.
Very likely!!
Reading through today's issue, I am so proud of the work Scott and this team do every single day to uncover what's really happening. That story about Dr. Norma Bowe brought tears to my eyes—ICE truly picked the wrong grandmother!
Thank you!
In my opinion, Epstein wanted Trump because of his money and because he could use his company which was not public to launder money from everywhere in the world to which he trafficked children. Nobody in New York respected Trump or liked him. He was shunned and Epstein knew how to work him and his father’s money.
I hope they get them for money laundering if nothing else
We need a new Congress for sure!

Exactly. And I agree, any way he can be taken down for good is just fine with me.

There have been several great shows on PBS/NPR about how EPSTEIN functioned by observing and manipulating the WEALTHY - he provided young women to WEALTHY MEN who couldn't even get a date.
This offers some insight:

Some of the banks EPSTEIN used reported 'suspicious activity' immediately after his death.
J.P. MORGAN CHASE knew what EPSTEIN was doing, as they also knew what BERNIE MADOFF was doing. (J.P.MORGAN CHASE maintains gaggles of attorneys to protect, not to do the right thing.) There were numerous other banks as well.
Big banks enabled Epstein sex trafficking, US senator says
Several major Wall Street banks ignored or failed to report Jeffrey Epstein’s suspicious financial transactions, enabling his extensive sex trafficking operation, U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden concluded in a Tuesday report.
The findings mark the end of a four-year investigation by the Oregon Democrat, who is the ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee. The report found top officials at banks including JPMorgan Chase, Deutsche Bank and Bank of America looked the other way as Epstein withdrew large sums of cash and wire-transferred money to victims and friends.
The report ultimately calls on the federal government to further investigate Epstein’s associates and the bankers that it alleges covered up Epstein’s tracks.
“The bankers who needed to be asking questions didn’t ask them,” the report says. “Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes were hiding in plain sight.”
The report notes that some top bank officials who personally handled Epstein’s accounts and spoke with him regularly didn’t report suspicious behavior — and some remain employed at the banks.
The banks reported suspicious transactions too late, the report says. JPMorgan Chase terminated Epstein as a client in 2013, but it wasn’t until 2019 that it and the other banks flagged the potentially illegal transactions. Epstein was arrested on sex trafficking charges in 2019.
Wyden alleged that by neglecting to flag the transactions to the federal government, banks protected Epstein from legal scrutiny. Banks are required to report suspicious transactions that may break federal law.
The report goes on to say executives at JPMorgan Chase knew for several years while Epstein was a client that he was accused of paying cash to bring girls into his home.
Epstein also reportedly relied on large payments from the billionaire Leon Black to bankroll his operation, the report says.
Wyden has criticized the federal government’s handling of the Epstein investigation and in September filed a bill compelling the U.S. Treasury to produce documents related to the case. That bill hasn’t passed.

It is likely that MONEY LAUNDERING CHARGES are out of statute.
