| Right now dogs are locked inside laboratory cages, forced to ingest pesticides every single day. For 90 agonizing days, these innocent animals endure the sickening effects of these chemicals—and are killed at the end of the experiment so their organs can be examined. | It’s a twisted logic—pesticides are meant to kill so it’s even more horrific that dogs, or any animals, would be used in these tests all to protect people. And what’s worse of all, in nearly all cases, these tests actually provide no added value in determining pesticide risks to humans. | We can’t let this go on. That’s why the Humane World Action Fund, formerly Humane Society Legislative Fund, is working with the Environmental Protection Agency to support non-animal research methods and end cruel and unnecessary testing for good. In January, thanks to the action of advocates like you, the EPA recommitted to ending testing on dogs and other mammals by 2035. But dogs are still suffering right now, and we need your help to make sure the EPA follows through on their commitment to life-changing action for animals. | Don’t wait while dogs are suffering in laboratories: Send a message to the EPA and urge them to follow through on their commitment to end tests on mammals and finally eliminate the 90-day dog test requirement. |

 | Animal tests provide little to no added value in determining risks to humans. Yet last year alone approximately 40,000 dogs were used in experiments in the U.S. Partly because of a flawed and outdated process for approving drugs, chemicals and pesticides. | Animals and humans deserve better. Here’s what we need to do to move forward: | - Raise awareness that effective non-animal testing options already exist
- Hold the EPA accountable to their promise to phase out testing on mammals and finally eliminate the 90-day dog test requirement for new pesticides
- Push pesticide companies to adopt more humane testing standards that protect animals and improve outcomes for consumers
| Your voice is desperately needed as we push the EPA and other federal agencies to fix their outdated product approval processes and encourage more humane, non-animal testing methods as the new gold standard. We can’t achieve lasting progress for animals without you, so please: | Tell the EPA to act quickly and decisively to phase out tests on dogs and other animals and prevent unnecessary suffering! |
