Trump has ordered unlimited clear-cutting of our National Forests. Don’t let him win.
It’s Earth Day – and we need your help to fight the attacks playing out on our nation’s forests: Donald Trump has ordered unchecked logging and clear-cutting across millions of acres of National Forests and public lands.
This directive could lead to our National Forests being overrun by CHAINSAWS, taking towering trees and turning them into depressing fields of stumps. All the while, Trump’s corporate buddies will profit. And to make matters worse, he’s attempting to bypass protections for endangered species in order to DESTROY our National Forests.
We can’t stand aside and watch while Trump continues to put profit over our planet. That’s why we called on supporters like you to urge your representatives to OPPOSE attacks on our forests. And this Earth Day, we’re counting on your membership support to take the next step to help fuel our fights for our forests and only Earth. Until midnight TONIGHT, every dollar you give up to our $230,000 Earth Day goal will be MATCHED $2:$1 – making TRIPLE the impact to protect our forests and planet! Please don’t waste this opportunity:
I can't overstate the importance of our National Forests. Filled with ancient towering trees and vibrant wildlife, these old-growth forests provide homes to animals, filter drinking water, protect against wildfires, and reduce climate-warming greenhouse gas emissions. But all of this is at stake now.
Republicans have a tangible plan to carry out Trump’s destructive plan. They just introduced a bill that could make his logging orders the official law of the land – making it much more difficult to reverse this catastrophic deforestation plan.
If they win, recovery won’t be as easy as planting a few trees in their stead. Some of the trees in our National Forests are hundreds or even thousands of years old. These mature trees are essential for maintaining healthy ecosystems – and are more wildfire-resistant than their younger counterparts. Once our National Forests are slashed, that’s it. They will NEVER be the same again!
