USAID puts nearly all workers on leave as Musk faces scrutiny… “Nearly all staff for the U.S. Agency for International Development, or USAID, will be placed on leave Friday night, the agency announced on its website Tuesday night. Earlier in the day, all overseas missions for USAID had been ordered to shut down, and all staff recalled by Friday, multiple sources confirmed to CBS News.” It is the latest in the callous effort by Donald Trump and Elon Musk to take food away from starving people across the globe and jeopardize U.S. national security. Musk’s motives behind his USAID vendetta continue to be scrutinized, as The Alt Media’s Adam Parkhomenko points out. USAID’s inspector general had announced a probe in September that involved Starlink, a SpaceX affiliate owned by Elon Musk. Musk’s efforts to dismantle USAID have apparently ended that investigation. (photo credit: Reuters) Musk’s taxpayer data-stealing 25-year old aide fired for racist posts… Marko Elez, the 25-year old X and SpaceX alum who was among Elon Musk’s minions raiding the Treasury Department of payment data, has been fired by the made-up “Department of Government Efficiency” over now-deleted racist posts online, NPR reports. Elez is (was?) among the “two special government employees allowed to continue seeing Treasury Department data” on a read-only basis, according to a filing by the Trump justice department agreeing to a proposed order in a lawsuit brought by unions representing government workers with grave privacy concerns over the Musk team’s seizure of the data. Casey DeSantis may run for Florida governor, setting up clash with Trumpworld… Casey DeSantis, the wife of term-limited Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), “seriously considering the idea” of running to replace her husband in the state’s top job. “There has long been speculation about whether Casey, a mainstay on the campaign trail for her husband, would herself one day run for office, but those plans seem to be coming closer to reality, five people directly familiar with the donor event and Casey DeSantis' thought process told NBC News.” If Casey DeSantis were to run, it would set up a contentious battle with Trump loyalists, as Trump is likely to support Congressman Byron Donalds’ bid, should he join the race. There has been no love lost between Trump and DeSantis since the 2024 Republican presidential primary. (photo credit: Getty) Trump again loses in court as federal employee resignation deadline is delayed… Federal workers only had until 11:59 p.m. ET this evening to decide whether to take the offer to resign from their jobs and be paid through the end of September. US District Judge George O’Toole extended that deadline until Monday’s further court proceedings. The offer was part of Elon Musk’s efforts to fire government workers who work from home. At least 65,000 federal workers have opted for the resignation deal. CNN notes, “Federal unions have strongly urged members not to accept the package, questioning its legality and the ability of the Trump administration to follow through on its promises.” Today’s Buzz Netflix shelves controversial Prince documentary… A documentary about Prince set for release on Netflix will not air, according to The Hollywood Report. Instead, Prince’s estate has struck a deal with Netflix to “produce a new documentary featuring exclusive content from Prince’s archive,” per a mutual agreement reached between Netflix and the estate that was posted on both parties’ social media accounts. The New York Times had reported that the original documentary made physical and emotional abuse allegations against Prince.
