📢 Hate has never made a nation great

🗽America is brave because you are. And we need that bravery now more than ever.

Friends, please take a moment to look at the photo of the United States flag below and reflect on the values it represents.

America is a work in progress and a promise of a better tomorrow for all of us.

We showed up on the beaches of Normandy to fight off Nazis, we sent people to the moon, and we developed a vaccine against and helped the world to overcome a worldwide pandemic.

We cherish our families, friends, faith, and communities; we pour love and hard work into everything we do.

That flag and America is our shared promise — a commitment to keep moving forward, to face challenges head-on, and to uphold the values of unity, courage, and compassion.

We are better than our worst days and can and will right the wrongs of our past.

We will not cower to bullies or fools, and we will do the work to fiercely advocate for our rights, freedoms, and democracy and push for freedom over fascism.

The strength of a nation lies in its people coming together, contributing their unique perspectives, talents, and experiences to build something greater than themselves.

A nation that allows hate to guide its policies and societal attitudes risks becoming isolated and losing respect and alliances on the global stage. All we have to do is look back in history and toward modern-day examples of North Korea and Russia to see what is to come if we allow hatred in the hearts of our leaders and our nation. All that we value, our families, faith, and our country, will experience internal conflict as spies and sycophants seek to spread hate.

We have a big choice this election

On the one hand, is former President Donald Trump, a convicted felon who caged children and families, separated babies from their mamas, bragged about it, and used words like "animals" and "poisoning our blood" to describe immigrants. He promises to "drill, baby drill" and deport millions of our friends, families, and neighbors, and he is adamant about cutting Social Security and Medicare while handing millions in tax breaks to his cronies and the uber-wealthy. He proudly stated he would be a "dictator on day one," and calls some Americans "the enemy within," and believes that we may need to use the U.S. military against them. And if that is not bad enough, he has promised to let states possibly incarcerate women seeking abortions, regulate birth control, and criminalize families seeking in vitro fertility treatments. And cheering him on is the Cult of Hate:

Cult of Hate

The Republican Party seems to have shifted its focus from serving the American people to seeking control over them.

MAGA extremists aren’t interested in addressing the challenges we face; instead, they fuel a divisive agenda rooted in anger and intolerance, and revel in transactional hatred and bigotry.

Crazed conservatives appear to have moved away from the teachings of Christ and the principles of compassion and love, aiming instead to impose their beliefs through coercion rather than connection.

On the other hand, Kamala Harris is a strong leader who will serve our nation well. She has the experience and the tenacity to work for all Americans. She is compassionate and joyful and has built a strong coalition grounded in seeking common ground and ensuring all Americans thrive.

Other countries look to strong nations not only for their economic or military power but also for their moral leadership. A country that promotes peace, tolerance, and respect earns admiration and influence worldwide, while one that fosters hatred faces condemnation and isolation.

Greatness is not measured by power alone but by a nation's capacity for empathy, compassion, and justice. A nation that rejects hate in favor of unity and inclusivity demonstrates true strength, setting an example for others to follow and building a legacy that future generations can be proud of.

Progress isn't easy, but it's up to us to keep moving forward. It means facing hard truths, having challenging conversations, and standing firm for what's right. Our leaders need to hear from us, and our communities need us to speak up and encourage each other to vote and stay engaged.

America's heart beats in the courage and compassion of its people, and it's this courage that lights the way forward. This Tuesday, on election day, let’s come together and send a clear message that there’s no room for hate in America.
