National parks are places for everyone to enjoy natural landscapes, build community and connect to our history and heritage. And at NPCA, we are committed to ensuring that people across the country have access to these places in nature. Don’t miss our newest video with our partner Nature Valley that showcases one of the ways we’re working to ensure more families are able to visit and make memories in our national parks. Learn more about the opportunity to expand Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area in Los Angeles to include land within the Rim of the Valley – preserving 118,000 acres of recreation areas, wildlife corridors and cultural sites. By protecting this place and providing new resources to the area, 18 million Los Angeles area residents will have access to a national park without having to travel far from the city.   As a result of tireless efforts by NPCA and our partners over the past decade, federal legislation to establish the Rim of the Valley is now poised to preserve this area for future generations. We have an opportunity to take immediate steps to protect the land’s invaluable natural and cultural resources while expanding recreational and educational opportunities for Angelenos and beyond.
