Plympton police arrest two during midnight shift for separate incidents

PLYMPTON — Plympton Police Department officers made two arrests during their midnight shift on April 8, involving a speeding violation and a case of operating under the influence (OUI).

At 12:50 a.m., Officer Broderick stopped a vehicle traveling at 59 miles per hour in a 45-mile-per-hour zone.

Assistance from Officer Ieronimo and Officer Orr was called to the scene.

The driver, a male from Quincy, MA, was found to have an active warrant from Brockton for Possession of Class B, Cocaine, and was subsequently arrested and booked at the station.

Later, at 2:34 a.m., Officer Ieronimo and Officer Orr encountered a vehicle parked in the roadway on Mayflower Road, with the engine running and a male operator asleep at the wheel.

Following an investigation and field sobriety tests, the Middleboro, MA, resident was arrested.

He faces charges of OUI Liquor 2nd Offense and having an Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle, under Chapter 90 Sections 24K and 241, respectively.

Both individuals were arraigned in court this morning.
