Thank you for being a part of our journey.

To our partners and supporters,

A little over two years ago, in partnership with our community and trusted supporters, I made the ambitious decision to transition Represent Justice from a film campaign, to a narrative change nonprofit dedicated to transforming public opinion around the justice system, and equipping storytellers with lived experience to change narratives in their communities. The birth was challenging, as all births are, but our vision was clear: dignity for those impacted by the system, and an end to mass incarceration.

I took a risk, inspired as I was by how the stories of our Ambassadors provided real names, faces, and solutions to the intractable issue of mass incarceration. I knew that those stories had powerful yet untapped potential - the fuel for the campaigns that could help end mass incarceration. I believed we could prove that audience demand for engaging stories, and public demand for an end to mass incarceration, originate from the same place – a desire to be proximate.

And two years later, as I reflect on 2022 during this holiday season, I’m filled with gratitude for being able to bear witness daily to the power that resides in our collective action. In YOUR collective action. Whether you’ve donated, contacted an elected official, listened and shared our stories, or even changed your own personal belief or attitude about the justice system and its policies, you are a part of this success. None of this would have been possible without you.

Thank you for being a part of our journey. Thank you for representing justice. We wish you and your loved ones a warm and safe holiday and look forward to what we will accomplish together next year.

Best,
Daniel Forkkio
