Donald Trump and his band of criminals never stopped committing crimes

 

Last night’s hearings confirmed what we already knew — Donald Trump led a criminal conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election, stop the peaceful transfer of power through violence, and end fair elections in America. Trump and the criminals who collaborated with him like Marjorie Taylor Greene, Jim Jordan, and Lauren Boebert never stopped trying to undermine democracy. That’s why Our Revolution didn’t wait until this week to challenge Trump’s criminal ambitions to seize power. Our members have filed courageous legal challenges in court and we’re pressuring Secretaries of State to do their job and enforce the Constitution, which bars insurrectionists from running for office. We’re demanding action by protesting outside the offices of insurrectionists and state election officials TODAY.  pitch in now to help turn these hearings into concrete consequences that take criminal insurrectionists out of power. While corporate Democrats were asleep at the wheel, we’ve been doing the work. Trump is staging a hostile takeover of our democracy, and there’s no time to waste. While last night’s hearing was compelling, Congress only has the power to investigate and expose – it has no power to prosecute or punish. State election officials, like Secretaries of State, do have that power. That’s where we’ve put our focus. Under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, state election officials are obligated to disqualify any office holder who “engage[s] in insurrection or rebellion against the [United States], or give aid or comfort to [our] enemies.” On behalf of our 1 million supporters nationwide, Our Revolution is doing the work to fight back to defend our country from fascism.
