AOC and Bernie’s Joint Town Halls, Plus More Great News That’s Bad For Trump
Onward.
This week served as a reminder that Trump is not fit to even run a Pez dispenser. So I’m happy to deliver another round of good news to you today. I hope it gives you a sense of relief, and assures you there are amazing people united with us in this fight against the wannabe-dictator.
Yesterday, there were rallies and marches in support of Veterans, held at dozens of state capitals and cities all across America. Protesters demanded Congress do their jobs—to protect Veterans, and also remove Trump from office. In DC, thousands loudly chanted “thank you Vets!” And one sign from the rally read: “I’m not a sucker, I’m not a loser, I’m a 92-year-old proud Navy Veteran.”
Eventual fall guy, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, got humiliated in Canada when visiting for a summit of G7 countries—which includes leaders from Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan. I was expecting a cold reception for the US this year, but wow, they really rolled out the “red carpet” for him.
When Rubio deplaned in Quebec, officials had hilariously placed a tiny red carpet at the base of the stairs. It looked like an old doormat, and it led right into a puddle. One social media observer quipped that Canada “decided to give him only 25% of the carpet.” (IMAGES ADDED BELOW!)
Dem Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will be joining forces with Sen. Bernie Sanders next week for his ongoing “Fighting Oligarchy” tour. Sanders says the goal is “to hold town meetings with working people,” and that “all over this country people are profoundly disgusted with what is going on.”
“Nevada, Colorado, Arizona: You deserve public servants who show up for you,” AOC stated. “The time is now to protect the public good, advance healthcare and living wages for all, and fight against corruption. See you next week.”
The Democratic Party also announced plans to hold “People’s Town Halls” in competitive GOP-held districts across the country. So far they’ve announced events in AZ, CO, FL, IA, MI, MO, NE, and PA.
Last night, the first of these town halls took place with Tim Walz in Des Moines, Iowa. Walz held nothing back when speaking to the crowd of around 1,000 people, saying: “There’s nothing conservative about an unelected South African nepo baby firing people at the VA.”
In Summit, New Jersey, more than 800 people attended fmr. Dem Rep. Tom Malinowski’s town hall. Held in GOP Rep. Tom Kean’s district, the venue was packed to capacity. Most of the people had to join the overflow room, where it was watched virtually.
Republicans, on the other hand, continue to hide from their constituents and weasel out of in-person town halls. WI GOP Rep. Derrick Van Orden decided to hold a telephone town hall instead, and it still backfired.
Van Orden lied and said DOGE is not firing people, and recommended folks contact DOGE directly if they have issues. So Dem Rep. Mark Pocan took it upon himself to prove how worthless that suggestion is. He tried 4 different ways to get in touch with DOGE, and they all were dead ends.
Since Van Orden won’t show up for his voters, Tim Walz will be hosting a town hall in the district next week.
****JAN 6 RIOTERS' PARDONS FOR OTHER CRIMES!****
In the courts, a federal judge denied DoJ attempts to extend pardons of Jan 6 rioters. The DoJ wanted pardons to include any crimes that were uncovered from Jan 6-related warrants. The judge said that to assume criminal acts that had nothing to do with Jan 6 were covered in the pardons, “defied rationality.”
Lastly, regarding the shutdown vote yesterday, Dem Rep. Jasmine Crockett said: “Please take out your anger, appropriately by sending letters, emails, making calls & supporting primary opposition where appropriate, but please don’t forget that 212 members in the house and probably almost 40 dem senators did the right thing!”
Rep. Crockett is spot on. We have lots of great folks fighting for us, but we must keep contacting Congress at a constant. That’s why, on top of delivering the news every day, we formed our activism arm—The Watchdog Coalition—which has already sent more than 215,000 letters, and made countless calls to the House and Senate.
We are fighting against any cuts to Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, the VA, and launching new efforts every week. Our social media following is one of the largest in all of politics, which guarantees we’re never just preaching to the choir.
Our recent “Hands Off Our Medicaid,” and “Republican Cuts Hurt Veterans” messaging campaigns got more than a billion impressions and dominated the trends on social media—even on Twitter/X.
Unlike corporate media, we will never sanewash the news. And in 9 years of taking on Trump, we’ve never once bowed down to him, and we will never give him an inch.

People Are Laughing At The Red Carpet Used For Marco Rubio's Canada Visit
Marco Rubio visited Canada for the G7 summit in Quebec on Wednesday, and the Secretary of State was given a grand Canadian welcome!

And by "grand Canadian welcome," I mean a tiny-ass red carpet.

Here it is:

As you can see, that carpet is very small and goes right into a puddle.

The jokes are good for this one:
"We decided to only give him 25% of the carpet."

"Right into the puddle with you."

"Roll back the tariffs and you’ll get a longer carpet..."

"Rubio got the red rug treatment"

"They rolled out the red napkin for rubio…"

And, of course, "Nobody does passive-aggressive better."

Have a good weekend!
