The horrifying videos out of Gaza, where the Israeli military launched a series of deadly strikes that hit a flour distribution center, a school, and a hospital that had been housing the displaced, have been nothing short of excruciating to watch.
After sharing this one with some colleagues this morning, showing flames ripping through the tents at Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, I was reminded that this was the same hospital where the doctors my colleague Noah Lanard spoke with from the Democratic National Convention had volunteered. One of those doctors included Dr. Nabeel Rana, who gave a devastating description of what he had seen firsthand in Gaza since last October:
There are no words, pictures, or videos that can really capture what’s happening. As soon as we got to the other side of the Gaza border crossing, it was like this dystopian image out of a movie. I mean it was just dust. It was an annihilation of the entire land.
Now as the hospital lies in ruin, the same apocalyptic scenes he described in August apply to the hospital he once worked in. I can't help but wonder how Rana is feeling today.

P.S. The biggest Christian nationalist movement in centuries is rapidly gaining power—and its ideology has seeped into evangelical churches across the country, including one in the swing state of Pennsylvania. My colleagues at Reveal have the inside story.
