URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Support Tribal demands to PROTECT Bears Ears National Monument using traditional knowledge! >> Picture this: two stone towers rising above the Southern Utah horizon. When the sun hits just right, the rock formations resemble a bear with proud ears standing tall. Surrounding this iconic monument, are even more treasures: ancient rock paintings, cliff dwellings, and Indigenous ceremonial sites! Local Indigenous communities have deep connections to this land and ancestral knowledge for properly stewarding it. That’s why we need YOUR help to support a proposed plan to directly involve Indigenous communities in managing and protecting Bears Ears! will you urge the Bureau of Land Management to APPROVE the plan for Tribal co-management of Bears Ears National Monument? Bears Ears made history when it was the FIRST EVER national monument proposed by Tribal Nations. Now, you have a chance to help us make history again. If approved, this plan would be the FIRST EVER federal land management plan created with Tribal Nations! The Bureau of Land Management is accepting your public comments – BUT NOT FOR LONG! We are running out of time to hit our midnight goal of 4,129 more signatures. Please, sign to protect Bears Ears by 11:59pm TONIGHT! Standing with you, Raena Garcia Senior Fossil Fuel and Lands Campaigner, Friends of the Earth |
