There’s some rotten stuff going down within the “justice" system in LA County. I really need you to read this, okay?
It’s long, so if you’re short on time, the most critical part you need to know is that George Gascón just LEFT the largest DA association in California due to their relentless obstructionism and hateful “tough on crime" agenda.
Now he has a HUGE target on his back, and it’s very important to me that he knows we’re by his side. Please split a donation today with George, and help him fend off all these attacks.
Now here’s the full breakdown:
When we started Real Justice in 2017, it was obvious we’d face a lot of opposition.
Police unions have been one of the most influential forces in politics for decades. Our work — and the DAs we backed — threatened their status quo.
So when we threw our support behind my hero, Larry Krasner, the establishment was pretty mad.
But then Larry WON. Candidates like Stephanie Morales, Rachael Rollins, Wesley Bell, and Chesa Boudin won too — and they immediately began dismantling the racist power structures in cities all over the country.
That’s when the police unions went from mad and scared to furious and TERRIFIED.
In 2020, when we endorsed George Gascón in LA County — home to one of the most corrupt, murderous, violent, and racist justice systems in America — we knew it’d be a tough fight.
Police unions went to the MAT and spent $5 million to defeat George.
It wasn’t enough.
Thanks to you and organizers on the ground, he was able to WIN. He’s been fighting to end cash bail, the death penalty, and punitive sentence enhancements ever since.
That’s what has all these right wing groups so ticked off. And after seeing them try to stop us since the day we formed Real Justice, I know their attacks against George Gascón are only going to get worse.
Thank you for everything.
These attacks against our DAs are sickening, but it’s proof that our work is working.
Let's keep it up!
