Demand a cease fire in Gaza now

Mother Jones Reader, Hundreds of thousands of bombs have been used across Gaza, and a significant number of these are failing to explode straight away.  These silent killers lay buried in the rubble and pose a grave and potentially fatal danger to anyone who goes near – especially children who may mistake them for something to play with.   To save lives, the Mines Advisory Group (MAG) together with its partner have been working nonstop to protect their communities from unexploded bombs in the midst of war in Gaza, teaching families and children exactly how to recognize and avoid these life-threatening weapons.  But daily life in the region is absolutely desperate as the conflict continues to rage on. Millions of people are suffering, families have been torn apart and homes have been destroyed. And while our teams have managed to teach over 300,000 people how to stay safe from unexploded bombs, this situation on the ground is growing so dire, that they can barely work as they now face severe hunger and danger themselves. Please, add your name to our petition calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. We know from our experience in post-ceasefire settings, in places such as Lebanon and South Sudan, that it is vital for affected communities to have access to information and advice that can help reduce the risk of injury or death from unexploded bomb contamination. It is also vital that our team stay healthy and safe in order to reach even more communities with this life-saving knowledge.
