“If you didn't know that TV footage was a video from January the 6th, you would actually think it was a normal tourist visit.” That's how Georgia Republican Andrew Clyde described the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6 -- and he's not alone. Rep. Paul Gosar criticized the Department of Justice for “harassing” the “peaceful patriots” who attacked Capitol police. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene went on to defend the Trump supporters who are “being abused” -- while Rep. Ralph Norman denies they were even Trump supporters at all: “I don't know who did the poll to say that they were Trump supporters.” We need to be clear about what happened on January 6 if we're going to prevent another attack on our democracy. Here's what we know so far: Extremists from organized groups like the Proud Boys used paramilitary gear, handheld radios, and encrypted messaging to coordinate with disguised members during the attack -- they even coordinated with other groups to attack doors with fewer Capitol guards. As Democrats work to establish an investigative commission into the insurrection, we want to know if the GOP's revisionist tactics are working -- and we need to hear from you: How do you refer to those who breached the Capitol on January 6?
