My hope is that the people of this state will remember that we deserve better from our leaders. That we don't have to settle for a crook like Ken Paxton. That we can expect a Senator who's going to fight for all 31 million Texans. Not fight for any political party, not fight for the occupant of the Oval Office, not fight for a billionaire mega donor, but fight for the people of Texas. And I know that cynicism is in style, and there's lots of reasons to be cynical and to think that this is the best we can get. But I want Texans to remember that we deserve better than this, and that we can take on this broken corrupt system and we can build a new kind of politics that brings people together, that delivers for working families in this state and leads us to a better, brighter future. And if we can hold on to that hope, then we are going to do extraordinary things as a state in the weeks, and months, and years ahead.
