ICE has spent the last year operating as if the law does not apply to them. Masked agents. Unmarked vehicles. Raids designed to terrify communities while avoiding identification, documentation, or consequences.
That impunity only exists because people are made to believe there is nothing they can do.
That lie ends now with our launch of a high-visibility public accountability campaign in Minneapolis that makes clear ICE agents are not above the law, and illegal conduct can be prosecuted by state district attorneys and attorneys general.
Billboards are up across Minneapolis. Help Democracy for America Advocacy Fund and the National Campaign for Justice to keep them up and expand the campaign to other cities by rushing a split donation now!
Here’s the deal.
When ICE breaks the law, the community has a lawful, effective response. Call 911. Every call is recorded. The local government controls those records. They cannot be erased, and journalists, attorneys, and investigators can obtain them. Second only to video recorded at the scene, 911 transcripts provide a critical role in exposing the truth.
ICE relies on anonymity to escape accountability. They rely on fear to prevent documentation. They rely on silence to rewrite abuse as routine enforcement. Our campaign attacks that structure directly by turning illegal conduct into permanent public records that can be scrutinized, investigated, and prosecuted.
And if an ICE agent is arrested, prosecuted, and convicted for a state crime, Donald Trump can’t pardon them – adding extra force to the real threat of accountability that won’t be reversed.
Minneapolis is ground zero, but this model works anywhere ICE is terrorizing communities. Portland. Los Angeles. Anywhere federal agents believe they can act without consequences. With enough support, we will take this campaign nationwide.
Fund this ICE accountability campaign and keep these billboards up as we expand to more cities and put ICE agents on notice everywhere they operate. Rush a split donation now.
Together, we can make sure ICE is not allowed to operate above the law.
