The people of Massachusetts face a stark contrast in September 1’s Democratic Primary for U.S. Senate.

On the one hand, we’ve got my friend Senator Ed Markey.

He’s a proven progressive champion who stands up to billionaires and big corporations, supports Medicare for All, and knows we must abolish ICE.

On the other hand, we’ve got Congressman Seth Moulton.

He’s made a habit of telling Democrats we need to do less, aim lower, and help fewer people.

After the 2024 election, he tried to blame Trump’s victory on trans kids. He suggested that Democrats throw these vulnerable children under the bus for the sake of political expediency. And he used disgusting, dehumanizing, misgendering language in the process.

Disqualifying, disqualifying, disqualifying.

Now that Seth Moulton is afraid he’ll have to face the consequences of his cruel, anti-trans remarks at the ballot box, he’s tried to do some damage control.

But if you’ve ever had a man tell you “I’m sorry if you were offended,” his recent words will sound familiar: “To anyone hurt by my comments, I’m sorry, because that was not my intention.” And he said trans kids’ rights should still be up for “debate” and “discussion.”

Absolutely not.

He’s also criticized Democrats who fight to tax the ultra-rich, calling it “class warfare.”

But if there’s “class warfare” going on anywhere, it’s corporate interests attacking working people. And he’s helped sharpen those attacks by voting to weaken financial regulations and consumer protections.

In addition, at a time when people all over the country are rightfully appalled by the White House’s rampant corruption, Moulton comes with his own skeletons in the closet. As a congressman on the Armed Services Committee, he’s set himself up to profit from investments in defense contractors.

Look: This is not a time to moderate our aspirations. This is a time to fight with boldness, clarity, and heart.

I need Ed Markey to stay in the Senate and fight by our side for justice. I will continue supporting Democratic candidates who embrace transformative, meaningful, life-saving policies. And I’m asking for your support.
