Urgent goal to tackle the climate crisis

We're already seeing weather-related effects of the climate crisis ramping up this summer across the country. It's a vivid reminder that we must build a more sustainable future for our natural world — using every solution available.

Conservation is one piece of the puzzle. Reducing our dependance on fossil fuels is also an essential step. From identifying wildlife-friendly clean energy sites to safeguarding places that capture carbon — we have science-backed solutions that we are ready to implement, but we need your support to power them up.

Will you help us raise $30,000 for natural climate solutions today?

Your donation could help with projects that support the transition to renewable energy — like our plan to help communities put more renewables on less land across the U.S.

The Nature Conservancy and partners have launched an innovative approach to repurposing former surface mining lands in the Appalachians by seeking to turn them into solar energy sites.

Like in southwest Virginia, where we are pursuing six utility-scale solar projects that will cover nearly 1,000 acres of degraded land and generate an estimated 130 megawatts of solar energy — that's enough to power 30,000 homes at peak output. Projects like these not only reduce carbon emissions, but they also help avoid development on sensitive natural lands.

It's the kind of collaborative, science-based conservation work we've been doing for decades.

And it's time to accelerate work like this, but we can’t do it without you. Please give now and help us reach our urgent goal.

In places across the country, we are creating a blueprint for projects like this — and we know the potential is there. The EPA estimates there are more than 43 million acres of previously disturbed land that are suitable for renewable energy siting — that's larger than the size of Florida.

This is just one example of the collaborative work needed to tackle the climate crisis.

can I count on you help us raise $30,000 to jumpstart conservation initiatives across the country? Please donate today.

With your help, we can use the power of nature to create a brighter future for our planet.

Thank you,
