A former Trump campaign staffer that is currently suing the campaign released a string of text messages in a recent court filing that suggests the campaign paid off multiple lawsuits involving staffers complaining of harassment and discrimination. The text messages were allegedly sent to former Trump lawyer Jenna Ellis, and she appeared to confirm that one staffer was on the receiving end of multiple complaints from many different people. Farron Cousins explains what happened.

Text messages were released this week as part of a new court filing from former Trump campaign staffer from 2016, a woman by the name of AJ Delgado, who of course is suing the campaign alleging that she was both taken advantage of and raped by Trump staffer or advisor, Jason Miller. So that lawsuit, which I have talked about in the past, uh, is something that is still going on, but as part of the lawsuit. And Delgado is a lawyer. She is representing herself. So she filed these text messages in court to show that she had communications with other lawyers that were a part of Trump's team, including allegedly Jenna Ellis, where they seemed to confirm that the Trump campaign had already settled multiple harassment and discrimination lawsuits on behalf of campaign staffers. To put that another way before I read you some of this report, AJ Delgado is alleging via these text messages with other Trump lawyers that hey, the conduct of the campaign inside it among the staffers was so bad that the campaign was just having to like settle lawsuit here, lawsuit there, lawsuit here, because the staffers couldn't stop harassing and discriminating against the other staffers.
Here's what the report from the Daily Beast says.
As part of the lawsuit, Delgado, a lawyer who's representing herself, filed a motion Thursday that included a text thread. She claims to be between her and Jenna Ellis, another ext Trump staffer, who is a co-defendant in his election subversion case in Georgia. The alleged texts begin with Delgado asking if Ellis knew of anyone who complained of gender discrimination, pregnancy discrimination, or sexual harassment during Trump's 2020 campaign. She wrote that the messages were to remain between them and pleaded with her to tell me the truth. The second texter, who Delgado claims is Ellis responded, yes. Off the record, Boris, the campaign settled multiple suits. The second number added that Delgado should subpoena the Ext Trump campaign staffer Michael Glassner, and assured Delgado that she would of course tell the truth even though they may not agree on everything. Boris, there were lots of complaints she says against Boris. Now, as far as we know, there's only one Boris working for the Trump campaign in the upper echelons, at least in 2020. And that of course is Trump lawyer Boris Epstein. Now Epstein was actually back in 2021, let me read this. Epstein was slapped with a trio of sexual misconduct counts, but they were later dropped. And he instead pleaded guilty to a disorderly conduct charge.
Epstein paid a fine and agreed to go on probation, but served no jail time. And that was after he was accused of repeatedly groping two sisters at an Arizona bar in 2021 until a bouncer and the cops intervened to remove him from the bar. So take that into account right in 2021. We know that this happened with Boris Epstein. Jenna Ellis allegedly is saying that yeah, we've had to settle multiple lawsuits with just Boris. Yeah. Kind of shows a pattern of behavior here and it also definitely bolsters Delgado's claims that the campaign did absolutely nothing and in fact, punished her when she came forward with these allegations against Jason Miller. Now, all of these things so far are allegations, right? The only thing we know of is what definitely happened with Epstein in Arizona. We don't even know if the Boris that this person was texting about was Boris Epstein. Maybe it was, you know, Boris Smith. I don't know, right? Boris such common name could be anybody, right? Um, but this is what's happening. This is what's being reported. This is what is included in Delgado's lawsuit and regardless of the outcome, it definitely paints a disgusting picture of what has been happening inside of Donald Trump's campaigns.
