Congress is moving forward with a budget bill that would meet Trump’s vain and cruel demands:
We’re seeing even some Republican members of Congress express skepticism about parts of this bill. The ballroom funding in particular is such a visible symbol of Trump’s wastefulness and self-interest, so out-of-touch with what people all across the country are experiencing, that some Republicans could even oppose it. This disastrous budget bill isn’t a done deal yet. So now is the time to lean hard on every member of Congress. No matter who represents you, they need to hear from you. Every Democrat needs to stay strong while Trump and his allies do whatever they can to pressure them. (Even if you know where they stand, they need to hear from their constituents.) And every Republican needs to hear, again and again, just how unpopular this bill is among the people they’re supposed to represent. Send an email to your members of Congress right away. Tell them: You must reject this budget bill and put the American people first. Thanks for taking action, George |
