With caucus season now officially behind us, I want to start by saying thank you.
Traveling across Massachusetts, I’ve had the chance to meet so many of you, hear your stories, and feel the energy driving our movement forward. So to everyone who showed up, organized, and stood up for our shared values—I’m grateful.
Today, I am writing to you from Washington, D.C., where over the past week, my colleagues and I have been in the midst of an urgent fight to protect something fundamental: the right to vote.
Donald Trump and his MAGA allies have been trying to push through the so-called SAVE Act—but don’t be fooled by the name because the only thing it saves is their ability to silence voters. This bill would block millions of eligible voters from participating in our democracy—plain and simple.
It would impose burdensome proof-of-citizenship requirements—such as passports or birth certificates—that millions lack, making it harder for working families, seniors, rural communities, new citizens, and military families to vote. It would also create new barriers for women whose names have changed, risking mismatched documents and denied access to the ballot.
And let’s be clear about what this is. This is just the latest attempt by Trump and his cronies to rig the system for their own benefit.
Because they’re scared.
They’re scared of the growing movement across this country—people organizing, speaking out, and demanding better. Scared of Americans outraged by their attacks on immigrants, LGBTQ+ communities, and others pushed to the margins. And scared because, as Trump pursues reckless policies at home and abroad, families are still struggling.
The cost of living is going up. Groceries are more expensive. Gas prices are rising.
But here’s what they fear most:
They fear the power of the people when we come together. Because when we organize, when we mobilize, when we stand united—there is nothing they can do to stop us.
And this weekend, we have another opportunity to come together.
Across the country—and right here in Massachusetts—communities will be gathering for No Kings events to stand up for democracy and make clear that in America, power belongs to the people.
So I encourage you to read on to learn more about the latest from our campaign—and the work I’m doing in Washington on your behalf, fighting back and delivering results. And then I hope you will join us this weekend at an event in your community, raise your voice, and be part of this moment.
Together, we will keep organizing, keep pushing forward, and keep building a stronger, more just future for everyone.
Thank you for being in this fight with me.
Onward,
|
