When Trump signed his Big Brutal Bill into law last year, he didn’t just hand trillions of dollars in tax cuts to billionaires and corporations -- paid for through massive cuts to Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act, SNAP nutrition benefits and more. Buried in that bill was also a nationwide school voucher scheme that will redirect our federal tax dollars to private schools and leave public schools across the country with fewer resources and deeper budget cuts. Governors now hold the power to either opt their states in or out of this privatization pipeline, even though most families have never heard a word about it. Right now is our opportunity to organize our communities to make it impossible for governors to ignore the overwhelming desire of their constituents for fully-funded public schools, not more voucher schemes that benefit for-profit schools at our expense.
Public School Strong Organizing Meeting Each month, parents, family members, educators, and supporters from across the nation gather to gain practical tools to promote, protect, and strengthen our public schools. Folks who are joining this call for the first time will have space for an Orientation and the opportunity to join the movement and get a Public School Strong t-shirt. Existing PSS members will have the opportunity to connect and share lessons, struggles and triumphs together, and receive deeper training and support. Your participation matters.
