This is giving us hope.

In the November election in Virginia, turnout among voters under 30 increased by more than 50% compared to 2021.

Virginia data

And the results were huge. Democrats in Virginia won the governorship, the lieutenant governorship, held and expanded their majority in the House of Delegates, and won the Attorney General race. That means Democrats now have the power to shape what happens next, from redistricting decisions to abortion rights protections for Virginians.

Young people helped make this happen.

They showed up, they organized, and they proved that when young voters turn out, we can get the results we’ve been fighting for.

Young people aren’t just any other demographic in our politics anymore. This year, Gen Z and Millennials will make up roughly half of eligible voters in the country. They are living with the highest costs, the most uncertainty, and a political system that too often does not deliver. And still, they are showing up. But to ensure we keep up the momentum long term and don't have young people turn right again like they did in 2024, we have to show them how we are not the same party as we were in 2024 — we have fresh faces and new ideas.

Right now, some states are already in early voting mode, and there is a real chance to build power and vote for people who will actually get the job done. So if you can, will you pitch in $10 to help us reach more voters and support more young progressive candidates?
