LARRY KRASNER'S WELL FUNDED REPUBLICAN OPPONENT REFUSED TO DEBATE...
WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU PHILADELPHIA?
My opponent backed out of tonight’s debate
Hi, it’s Philly District Attorney, Larry Krasner. Later today, I’m joining the WHYY News, the Committee of 70, and the Philadelphia Bar Association for a candidate forum in the Philadelphia District Attorney race. But my opponent won’t be there: |
Think about that – he’s challenging my record as District Attorney — he wants to reverse course for Philadelphia …but won’t even attend a forum to defend his record? I’d be happy to engage in a lively discussion with my opponent. I don't mind talking with folks I disagree with, and I welcome the opportunity to explain why my vision for Philadelphia will make our city Safer and Fairer. I’m disappointed my opponent doesn’t respect voters enough to attend tonight’s candidate forum. But regardless, I’ll be there tonight, ready to talk about the issues that matter most to Philadelphians.
The Philadelphia Inquirer just made a major endorsement in the Philadelphia district attorney race, giving their full-throated support to incumbent DA Larry Krasner. They know Larry has made a positive impact on the city by reducing incarcerations, lowering the violent crime rate, holding police officers accountable, going after opioid manufacturers and Big Pharma for illegal conduct, and making Philadelphia Safer & Freer for all its residents. But they also know Larry can do more for our city. He’s taking on retail crimes to protect small businesses and working to keep kids out of prison. And he’s the best person for the job, not his Republican-backed opponent. |
This is why we fought like hell to elect Larry Krasner. Period.

Have you heard the good news? The Philadelphia police officer who fatally shot Eddie Irizarry last month at near point-blank range as he sat in his car has been charged with first-degree MURDER by District Attorney Larry Krasner. The officer, Mark Dial, has also been charged with voluntary manslaughter, aggravated assault, simple assault, possession of an instrument of crime, reckless endangerment of another person and official oppression. This is why we fought like hell to elect Larry Krasner. Period. For every officer held accountable by DAs like Larry, there are too many officers who commit murder but NEVER face consequences because local prosecutors are beholden to police unions instead of the people.
This was one of the single worst police shootings I’ve ever seen. And police LIED about the whole thing. Made the whole story up. While it was being filmed. The hospital said the police even abused and mistreated the victim at the hospital. Listen. Before Krasner took office in 2018, a Philadelphia police officer hadn't been charged with an on-duty shooting in nearly two decades. This is the FOURTH time Krasner has charged an officer in connection with an on-duty shooting. That's not a coincidence—that's the result of strategic, grassroots activism to put the right people in office. I’ve said it many times before: District Attorneys are essentially the CEOs of their local justice systems. They have a direct impact on MILLIONS of people’s lives. The conservative mega-donors and police unions know this. They spent HUGE amounts of money to try to prevent Larry from winning re-election and they are hoping that we won’t have the resources to elect more DAs like Larry in 2024. Love and appreciate you,
Shaun
