CNN has lost its damn mind! No wonder its ratings are in the dumps.
Yesterday, I was sitting around the Christmas tree with my family when my nephew asked me about the Louisiana Purchase.
I thought it was an inquisitive question, so I asked why he brought it up.
He said CNN reported that if Donald Trump “takes over” Greenland, it would be the most significant acquisition of territory by the United States since the Louisiana Purchase.
I explained to my nephew what the Louisiana Purchase was and also told him that Donald Trump is an idiot. America isn’t taking over Greenland, Panama, Canada, or Mexico—these are sovereign nations.
I looked up CNN’s report, and sure enough, here were their headlines:
Headline 1:
Trump considers US expansion: If he’s serious, a territorial expansion into Panama, Greenland and Canada would rival the Louisiana Purchase.
Headline 2:
The president-elect has suggested a territorial extension into Panama, Greenland and Canada. If he’s serious, it would rival the Louisiana Purchase.
Notice how CNN used the terms “territorial expansion” and “territorial extension” in the two headlines, as though this is somehow normal.
This is the language of imperialist conquerors. This is the language of Putin. This is the language of the Reich and Hitler.
The fact that CNN’s headlines so casually normalized Trump’s outrageous and incendiary posts about conquering our allies shows that CNN has sunk to a place of no return.
CNN has positioned itself as an arm of Trump. CNN should just change its name to TNN—Trump News Network—if this is how it plans to behave.
Fortunately, MeidasTouch publicized CNN’s post, and we rallied tens of millions of Americans—and millions more around the world—to call out CNN for its behavior.
This isn’t what I expected to be doing on Christmas Eve, but it’s crucial we don’t cede an inch.
When the media tries to pull stunts like this, we have to respond rapidly and not let their pernicious and sick behavior become normalized.
We have to call them out, as we just did, every time they pull something like this.
2025 will be the year when independent media replaces corporate media. I am confident of that. Goodbye, CNN.
The MeidasTouch Network already gets more views than CNN on digital platforms, and we’re just getting started.
We have zero investors, zero billionaires, and yes, zero oligarchs.
One of the main ways we grow is through the support of paid subscribers on this Substack.
Think about it:
The Meidas Mighty, this pro-democracy community, is growing bigger than CNN with people-powered tools like this Substack, while CNN relies on billionaires and oligarchs.
It’s a revolutionary concept.
Let’s make history together and keep growing together.
If you’re able, please consider becoming a paid subscriber to this Substack today and help us hit our Christmas subscriber goal—we’re almost there. You can also gift subscriptions for the holidays.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, and Happy Holidays. The Meidas Mighty is the best!
