Mitch McConnell and the GOP rigged Trump’s trial. 75% of Americans wanted witnesses, and they ran a sham trial that made a mockery of the Senate.
And it could cost them the Senate.
59% of Maine voters supported impeachment. Susan Collins didn’t care.
52% of Arizona voters supported impeachment. Marth McSally didn’t care.
56% of Colorado voters supported impeachment. Cory Gardner didn’t care.
Democrats need 4 seats to flip the Senate in 2020 and ensure that Mitch McConnell has no more power in Washington. But we have to turn out the vote to make sure that happens.
In 2016, millions of Democrats stayed home or were intimidated from voting at all, and Donald Trump won Wisconsin by just 0.77%, Michigan by just 0.23% and Pennsylvania by just 0.72%.
And if Democrats fail to show up to vote in 2020, Trump will win again and Mitch McConnell will maintain control of the Senate.
Mitch already ensured Trump’s acquittal once. If Trump is re-elected and Mitch keeps control of the Senate, kids in cages, the Muslim Ban, tax cuts for the wealthy and big corporations, withdrawing from the Paris climate accords, calling white supremacists “very fine people,” and calling his impeachment a “lynching?” That all will look tame.
McConnell will help Trump stack the Supreme Court with more anti-choice justices like Brett Kavanaugh. Trump will gut the EPA. They’ll destroy Obamacare and defund Medicare and Social Security in favor of more and more tax cuts for big corporations.
