I am headed back to Los Angeles now after an eventful week in New York City. This has been a rewarding and grueling trip, and I haven’t gotten much sleep. We won The Webby Award for Podcast of the Year, we did a defining interview with Katie Couric, we were named the top news podcast on all of YouTube at an event at YouTube Headquarters in New York City yesterday (remember to add the MeidasTouch Podcast on Apple Podcasts and Spotify—a new episode is out now), and most importantly, we got to celebrate Mother’s Day and our mom’s birthday in New York City. This morning, as I was about to write this, I woke up to see Trump supporters swarming our accounts with vile and despicable defamatory statements and filth. Some things I don’t even want to share because they’re so gross and hateful, but here is a handful of the type of comments these Trumpers and MAGA cult members made: When Trump returns from his Middle East bribe trip, I feel he will ramp up the attacks on independent media like us. I believe his next move is trying to incite some incident where he can declare martial law and turn the military against the media and the people. I don’t say this to scare you—I say this so we can prepare. We have built out major hubs of support in other countries to continue our reporting if something happens to us. We have prepared for how we would immediately respond to any unlawful executive order or legal action brought against us by the Trump regime. We will not be deterred even slightly from our mission. Trump is getting more desperate by the day which, in many ways, makes him more dangerous—like the cornered rat that he is. We are heading into democracy summer, when the protests will pick up. Trump is already getting worried about the midterm, and he’s urging Republicans to try and run on the message that he will be impeached if Democrats take control of the House and Senate. If Democrats can become focused and disciplined over the coming months, we could see the largest blue wave in American history. Folks, we need your help. The MeidasTouch Network has had a historic week, and we need to keep expanding. We are building our affiliate channels and staff. We’ve been bringing on new editors and night shift editors. Trumpers Attack Meidas WITH LIES to Shut Us Down MeidasTouch Network and Ben Meiselas Feb 8 By Ben Meiselas I’ll keep this short. Trump supporters have launched a new attack on Meidas. They are saying that we are funded by USAID. This is 100 percent false. We have never been funded by USAID. Trump supporters used a coordinated “bot swarm” to try to defame us across social media. Here are some examples. This is their latest attempt to shut us down and harass us. To date, they have sent us numerous death threats. They’ve begged Trump and Elon to sue us. They launched a cyberattack against us, and they’ve doxxed our homes and our families. Trump has sued our hosts and then dismissed the case. Trump has attacked us at his criminal trial. Fox hosts have conspired to shut us down. They are throwing everything they’ve got at us. Yet, here we stand. The Meidas Mighty are here together. We stand tall, and we stand proud. It is absurd to even suggest we received anything from USAID. We have never received a cent from USAID. We have zero investors, and the main way we grow is through our subscribers on this Substack. We have nothing to do with USAID. Look, I get why Trump and his supporters feel threatened by us. We are bringing the fight to them. We are putting the screws in. We have been relentless and fearless in our fight against Trump and his regime.
