Kevin Cramer and his MAGA buddies just defeated an effort to make contraception accessible for women across our country. For months, Cramer and his allies have claimed that they support protecting a woman’s right to contraception. But, when they had the opportunity to protect that right, they defeated a procedural measure that would have moved the Right to Contraception Act forward. It’s not right. As a mother and candidate for Senate, if I were in the Senate, I would have voted for this bill. It's why we need to flip North Dakota and keep the Senate blue. Our race to flip this North Dakota Senate seat has never been more vital. I will vote to end the filibuster and codify Roe. We can win this race, and I have the polling to prove it.  Our campaign recently commissioned our first internal poll and results were eye-opening. Some top lines are: The initial head-to-head has me at 29% and Cramer at 54%. This is to be expected as less than one-third of voters have even heard of me. But we closed the gap 10 points since the Emerson poll in October without a penny spent in paid media, showing significant potential. Only 33% of voters want to reelect Senator Cramer, 54% want to replace or will consider someone else. Only 42% view Cramer favorably, and 45% viewing him unfavorably. 24% of Republicans don’t approve of the job he is doing. When hearing positive messages for both candidates, I take the lead, 45% to 43%. When negative messages are incorporated, the final ballot has the race tied at 40% each. Senator Kevin Cramer is a lifetime, lackluster politician, who has previously lost three statewide races in North Dakota, with mediocre polling numbers. His favorability is below water, his job approval flat, and his reelect is a dismal 33%. He is “more of the same” from Washington. He is part of the problem and not part of the solution. I’m the polar opposite of Kevin Cramer and represents that change that voters want: I’m not a politician; I understand first-hand the challenges people face, I am a problem solver, and I’m an outsider unafraid to tackle the status quo in Washington. Eisenstadt v. Baird[edit]

In 1967 Boston University students petitioned Baird to challenge Massachusetts's stringent "Crimes Against Chastity, Decency, Morality and Good Order" law^[20][21] (i.e. Chapter 272, section 21A). On April 6, 1967 he gave a speech to 1,500 students and others at Boston University on abortion, birth control, environmental pollution, and overpopulation.^[22] He gave a female student one condom and a package of contraceptive foam.^[22] Police arrested him as a felon and he faced up to ten years in jail.^[23] He was convicted and sentenced to three months in Boston's Charles Street Jail.^[24]

He fought to legalize birth control without the support of major abortion rights or feminist organizations, several of which attacked him. Betty Friedan of the National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL) has implied many times since 1971 that Baird was a "CIA agent", including a statement in The New York Times.^[25] During his challenge to the Massachusetts law, Planned Parenthood stated that "there is nothing to be gained by court action of this kind. The only way to remove the limitations remaining in the law is through the legislative process."^[26]

Despite this opposition, Baird fought for five years until Eisenstadt v. Baird legalized birth control for all Americans on March 22, 1972. Eisenstadt v. Baird, a landmark right to privacy decision, became the foundation for such cases as Roe v. Wade and the 2003 gay rights victory Lawrence v. Texas. Eisenstadt v. Baird is mentioned in over 52 Supreme Court cases from 1972 through 2002.^[27] Each of the eleven U.S. Court of Appeals Circuits, as well as the Federal Circuit, has cited Eisenstadt v. Baird as authority.^[27] The highest courts of all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico have cited Eisenstadt v. Baird.^[27]
