Last week, we launched a petition calling on the organizers of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics to remove Epstein enabler Casey Wasserman as board Chair. The response has been swift--and telling.

In the days since, pressure has only intensified. Karen Bass--the Mayor of Los Angeles--and 10 other elected officials have told Wasserman to resign.1 Even Sports Illustrated has publicly called for Wasserman's resignation.2

When the city's top elected leader, other public officials, and one of the nation's leading sports publications are sounding the alarm, one thing is clear: it’s time for him to go. Can you add your name to the petition, too?

The more people the executive committee of the L.A. Olympics hears from, the likelier they are to cede to our demands.

While being mentioned in the Epstein files--in Wasserman's case, 87 times (!)--is no evidence of illegal wrongdoing, our demands for Wasserman to step down from his role on the Olympics executive committee is a moral one. The late serial pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and his accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, were allowed to carry out their abuse of children for at least two decades because they surrounded themselves with rich and powerful people like Wasserman. The Casey Wassermans of the world are what gave Epstein and Maxwell credibility and currency.

That's why it is so important to hold Wasserman and all who enabled Epstein and Maxwell accountable. Los Angeles is full of well-connected and talented people who can organize and represent us well in the 2028 Olympics. Please sign--and share!--the petition calling on the L.A. Olympics executive committee to fire Wasserman.

Thank you for seeking justice with us!

The late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and his accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, groomed, trafficked and sexually abused at least 1,000 women--many of whom were girls at the time of their abuse.1 Their network was vast, and their serial sexual predation festered for at least two decades. How did they keep this up? Because some of the richest and most powerful people in the world insisted on hobnobbing with them and lending them social and professional credibility.

One of these many, many individuals was Casey Wasserman, grandson of the legendary Hollywood and studio executive Lew Wasserman, who owns a lucrative agency of his own that represents many A-list artists and sports athletes, including Kendrick Lamar, SZA, and Klay Thompson. Wasserman is also the chairman of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Committee.2

We can't think of a worse person to represent Los Angeles or the United States on such a global stage.

Tell the executive committee for the Los Angeles Olympics: Survivors are watching. Drop Chairman Casey Wasserman immediately!

Survivors and advocates are not the only ones uncomfortable with having a pedophile-enabler represent us on the world stage for the 2028 Olympics. Artists and sports talent have been leaving the Wasserman Agency in droves since Wasserman was named in the Epstein files.3

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, who doesn't have the authority to fire him, has said that Wasserman should resign.4 The statements made by Mayor Bass and artists who've abandoned Wasserman's firm are valid, moral, and must be acted upon.

A search of Wasserman's name in the Epstein files released so far--the U.S. Justice Department has released only 50% of the files--yields a whopping 87 results.5,6 The emails show Wasserman regularly reaching out to Maxwell for intimacy, such as his desire to see her in a "tight leather outfit."7 In another email, after Wasserman told Maxwell he missed her, he asked, "...can we book that massage now?"8

This is chilling, considering that Maxwell recruited many of Epstein's victims under the pretense that they were hired to give a very wealthy and powerful man a massage. Instead, a lucrative gig turned into a harrowing life experience with Epstein sexually assaulting them.9

Wasserman also helped Maxwell and Epstein find the best places in Los Angeles to stay while in town.10

Maxwell and Wasserman's correspondence suggests a real friendship, and not just a "one-off" at an event or meeting. Tell the Los Angeles Olympics executive committee: Find someone not associated with one of the most heinous serial pedophiles of our lifetime to replace Wasserman as chair of the 2028 Olympics.

We are going to say out loud what survivors already know: We are living in a #MeToo backlash moment, in which survivors are the ones portrayed as the witches causing rich, powerful men to lose their jobs and prestige. Let's be very clear: A man losing his business and reputation is nothing compared to the lifelong health impacts sexual abuse survivors suffer on their minds, bodies, and spirits.11 Maxwell and Epstein chose their victims, AND their enablers, carefully.

Over two decades, Epstein and Maxwell trafficked and abused at least 1,000 women--many of whom were girls at the time of their abuse--from all over the world.12 They preyed on the most vulnerable girls, such as those growing up in foster care or living on the streets or the slums of their home countries, and promised them everything from a visa to the United States to modeling contracts to the paid gigs of their dreams.13

We know where this story goes. What Epstein and Maxwell actually left behind were shattered lives; at least three Epstein survivors have committed suicide or died from drug overdoses, and hundreds of now-grown women to this day are grappling with trauma and picking up the pieces of their lives.14 Perhaps most horrifying of all: some survivors are even receiving death threats for coming forward with the truth about Epstein and Maxwell's crimes--a testament to these survivors' grit and bravery.15

Wasserman should feel more than embarrassment for his affair with Maxwell. He needs to take full responsibility for his actions, and that starts with the bare minimum of stepping down from all his public roles. Survivors deserve nothing less.

Let the executive committee for the Los Angeles Olympics know that you want someone other than Wasserman to chair the 2028 Olympics.

Thank you for remaining steadfast by the side of survivors,
