Ashland doctor sentenced to federal prison for attacking officer in Capitol on Jan. 6
An Ashland doctor who struck a police officer inside the US Capitol rotunda on Jan. 6, 2021 was sentenced on Thursday to nine months in prison on a slew of felony and misdemeanor charges, the Federal Bureau of Investigations said.
Jacquelyn J. Starer pleaded guilty in April to an eight-count indictment, including two felony counts of obstruction during civil disorder and assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers. She also plead guilty to six misdemeanor offenses, ranging from disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building to physical violence in the Capitol grounds.
At Starer’s sentencing hearing in US District Court in Washington DC, Starer, 70, was ordered to nine months in prison to be followed by two years of supervised release, the FBI said.
