I can’t stop thinking about the Fern Hollow bridge collapse.
It’s not just the narrowly avoided tragedy where, thankfully, no one was killed, but the implications of how and why the bridge collapsed in the first place. What this collapse tells us about the infrastructure of our country is damning.
We are seeing more and more unpredictable and extreme weather events as a direct result of the climate crisis while our infrastructure crumbles. We are only going to see more stress on our aging infrastructure, Frank.
I am running to represent Pennsylvania in Congress because I know climate change solutions and infrastructure investments can’t wait. If you are ready to fight for the future of our planet together, consider chipping in $5 to help get me to Congress.
In the past several years we’ve seen everything from landslides to sinkholes to our roadways collapsing — it is clear that not enough is being done to protect our communities right now, or to stop these extreme weather events from escalating in the future.
Enough is enough.
We deserve better than worrying that the ground will literally open up and swallow us on the way to work, or to see our loved ones. We’re spending endless billions on bombs and prisons, but pennypinching on the long overdue investments infrastructure that truly make folks safe. And in the City of Bridges, we can see and feel the frightening effects of inaction every day.
That is why as a two-term legislator, I’ve fought for bold, immediate climate action and infrastructure investments, and why I’m ready to take that fight to Congress and win. Can you chip in $5 to keep this campaign running strong?
Forward together,
Summer
