Scott Perry voted against our Postal Service--again.

Eugene DePasquale for PA

Scott Perry has shown his true colors once again. Just this week, he voted AGAINST an extremely popular bipartisan bill to save the U.S. Postal Service, help clear delivery delays, and improve service to rural Americans.

Perry’s buddy Donald Trump tried to destroy the USPS, and now Perry wants in on the game. While Democrats and reasonable Republicans are fighting to end our supply chain woes, Scott Perry and right-wing radicals want to prolong them for political gain.

This might be a game to Scott Perry, but the Postal Service is vital to millions of Pennsylvanians. Our communities depend on it to deliver food, medicine, and other necessities; small businesses rely on it to deliver goods and services. Scott Perry’s intentional destruction of the USPS is a bridge too far, and he needs to go. Will you chip in $10 to help us deliver his defeat?

Let’s be clear about what Republican Scott Perry opposes:
  • Guaranteed 6-day delivery
  • Increased rural delivery
  • Reliable business and medical delivery

Thankfully, 342 Democrats and Republicans came together and passed the bill despite Perry’s obstruction. We need a representative who will fight for us–not turn his back on us every time his billionaire donors and corporate bosses tell him.

This is where we come in. We must do everything in our power to defeat Scott Perry. Pennsylvanians deserve a leader who delivers for us. Will you contribute $10 to our grassroots Stop Scott Perry Fund today?

Thank you,

Team Eugene

Fueling Another Insurrection

In the weeks leading up to January 6, 2021, rioters took to social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and 4chan to propagate the Big Lie and plan a violent takeover of the United States Congress. These social media platforms are complicit in an insurrection that left five Americans dead and over 140 Capitol police officers injured. They have profited by fueling the disinformation crisis that has aided in the rise of extremist groups like QAnon.

The January 6th insurrection was symptomatic of a larger threat to our democracy. A handful of global corporations have taken control of the internet, the dominant medium of all modern communication and commerce, and have used that control to violate personal privacy and to promote unprecedented amplification of dangerous disinformation and vitriol. If left unchecked, social media companies will no doubt play a significant role in the next violent attack on our republic, all in the name of turning a profit.

That’s why Free Speech For People has introduced the Big Tech Accountability Act, a model bill that would hold social media companies accountable for amplifying disinformation and violence via their online platforms.

Sign the petition: Support the Big Tech Accountability Act.

It’s time to hold social media and streaming giants accountable for spreading false information and amplifying threats of violence on their online platforms. With the Big Tech Accountability Act, we can put an end to the unchecked corporate power of social media companies.

Sign if you agree: We must put a stop to the spread of dangerous false information and violence online by passing the Big Tech Accountability Act.

In solidarity,
Free Speech For People

FOUR THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT KEVIN MCCARTHY

Here are four things you should know about the aspiring Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy:

  1. He raised a record $9.5 million at a Trump Hotel fundraiser in D.C. in one January evening thanks to $100,000-minimum donations from over 50 corporate PACs and the NRCC.
  2. In interviews with Steve Bannon’s Breitbart and The Daily Caller, co-founded by Tucker Carlson, McCarthy spoke as if he already won the midterms, promised to conduct countless bogus investigations of Biden, and declared he’ll strip Adam of his committee assignments if he becomes Speaker.
  3. McCarthy literally fast walked away from a reporter in the Capitol to avoid answering questions about the Republican National Committee’s resolution calling the insurrection at the Capitol “legitimate political speech.”
  4. Oh, and he has no ethical compass. Just like his boss in Mar-a-Lago.

It’s abundantly clear — McCarthy is not fit to be Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. Not by a long shot.

We have a choice: Defend and expand our House majority, so we can keep our country on the path to progress and ensure Adam continues to serve his vital role in the House, or hand over control to McCarthy, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan, and all the rest of the cranks that have remade the GOP in Trump’s image.

Thank you for everything you do — for Adam, our movement, and our country.

An inside look at Trump’s new social media platform

Well folks,

Trump’s new social media platform just dropped, and it’s now available for download. But team, “freedom” from the community guidelines on Twitter is not free — it’ll cost you $4.99 PER WEEK. That works out to $260 per year to participate in this new social media platform.

$260 per year — just to be lied to by Trump.

So you know we have to ask: Would you rather pay $4.99 per week for Trump’s new social media platform (that's $20 a month!), or $10 per month to keep the House BLUE in 2022?

If you’re thinking about signing up, here’s what you can look forward to…

Not very appealing, right? So, how about that donation to keep the House blue instead?

Hope you got a laugh, just like we did.

9 coups. 5 countries. BILLIONS in U.S. military training.

Win Without War

Weeks ago, a military coup ousted Burkina Faso’s democratically elected president, Roch Marc Christian Kaboré. The new leader? Lt. Col. Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba, a U.S.-trained soldier.

Damiba received special ops and military intelligence training directly from the Pentagon, as part of a multi-BILLION dollar, decades-long attempt to “counter terrorism.”

Not only has this weapons-and-war-first approach failed to curb violence in the region, it’s had other disastrous results. In West Africa alone, U.S.-trained soldiers have attempted at least 9 coups across 5 countries in just the last 14 yearsIt’s a U.S.-funded endless war feedback loop.

This “national security” system isn’t making anyone safer, not here and not in Burkina Faso. We need a fundamental shift in our priorities — you know it, I know it, and a majority of people in the United States now agree: it’s time to cut the weapons and war budget.

That’s why it’s infuriating that we’re hearing President Biden is set to propose raising the Pentagon budget yet again — by $60 BILLION more than Trump’s average request.

But this is key: Biden’s increase can’t happen without the House of Representatives in tow. We’re gearing up to build our power to push back, working closely with a growing coalition in Congress that’s also laser-focused on cutting the Pentagon budget. Together, we’ll create unprecedented levels of congressional opposition to rubber-stamping another bloated Pentagon budget — and we need you with us.

Coups like in Burkina Faso last month, in Guinea last year, or in Mali in 2020 aren’t a failure of the U.S. war machine: they’re evidence of the system working exactly as designed

The ENORMOUS Pentagon budget doesn’t reflect the security needs of the country or impacted communities who deserve our support — it reflects the wants of gigantic weapons corporation CEOs and lawmakers who collectively receive $25 million per election in donations from their companies.

These war profiteers stand to lose BIG if we’re successful in cutting up the Pentagon’s blank check budget — and they’ll throw everything they’ve got toward keeping the war machine running.

That’s why we have to come out even harder than we have before if we want to stop spending where weapons contractors want, and start spending on the things that will actually keep us safe — and help people thrive.

With huge public awareness of the enormous toll our misguided priorities have for communities across the globe, this is a critical moment to build power and call for a fundamental reckoning.

That’s why our team is pulling out all the stops to work with allied lawmakers and powerful progressive partners to cut the Pentagon budget. It’s an uphill challenge, and we need you with us for the long-term.

Budgets are moral documents, and what we choose to fund is what we’ll see flourish. If we do this right, we’ll have a chance at turning the tide on a violent, broken status quo that prioritizes profit over people’s needs.

Together, we’ll build something that can provide true security for ALL of us.

Thank you for working for peace,

Annika, Abbey, Yint, and the Win Without War team

It’s time for action.

Cori Bush

Did you hear about Cori’s letter to President Joe Biden?

On Wednesday, Cori and Senator Cory Booker led a group of Democrats urging Biden to address the “disparate and often inhumane treatment” of Black migrants by our immigration enforcement system.

The unfortunate truth is that Black migrants are deported twice as often and face inhumane, violent treatment at our border. We witnessed this last fall after the Biden administration green-lighted mass deportations of asylum-seeking Haitians despite the ongoing crisis in their country.

That’s why Cori is leading House Members in the call for the Biden administration to review the disparate treatment of Black migrants and reverse anti-Black policies like Title 42 expulsions. Title 42, which allows the federal government to bar non-citizens entry into the US for health reasons, was dusted off and put in place by the Trump administration.

It is unacceptable for the Biden administration to continue to use this policy.

We came here to Congress to save Black lives and livelihoods, and that’s what we’re going to do. So in honor of Black History Month, we want to make it loud and clear that it’s time for action.

It’s time for reparations. It’s time to remove white supremacists from our government. It’s time we address the health disparities Black mothers, pregnant people, and children face. It’s time we end the cycle of police violence and systemic racism that pervades our communities. It’s time to address the disparate and inhumane treatment of Black migrants.

Cori is proud to lead this work toward this future — not only during Black History Month — but every day of the year. Will you chip in $5 or anything you can today to support Cori as she leads our movement to save and honor Black lives?

Together,

Team Cori
