Middleboro Man Indicted in Steak Dinner Stabbing Death of Mother’s Boyfriend
BROCKTON (WBSM) — The Middleboro man accused of stabbing his mother’s boyfriend during an argument over dinner has been indicted on a murder charge.
Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz announced Andrew Horsman, 41, was indicted today by a grand jury on one count of murder. He is currently being held without bail.
Argument Over Dinner Turns Violent
On June 28, Middleboro Police were called to 19 Fairview Street at about 8:03 p.m. for a report of a fight and a man stabbed. First responders arrived to find Paul Pomerleau, 66, suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was taken to Morton Hospital in Taunton, where he was pronounced deceased from his injuries at 8:52 p.m.
Horsman Identified by Witnesses
Witness interviews led police to identify Horsman as the suspect, and he was taken into custody without incident.
Several witnesses at the scene told detectives that an argument had broken out at the home over a steak and sausage dinner, which led to the stabbing. A steak knife was found near Pomerleau’s body.
Pomerleau had been stabbed 17 times, and afterward, Horsman allegedly poured lighter fluid over his body.
Horsman will be arraigned in Brockton Superior Court at a later date.
