Republicans double down on noncitizen voting issue
A federal judge denied the ACLU’s request to block Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose (R) from requiring voters to show naturalization papers if their citizenship status is challenged at a polling place.
The League of United Latin American Citizens of Iowa and naturalized citizens contested voter challenges in Iowa in a new lawsuit. The plaintiffs claimed that on Oct. 22, Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate (R) told local officials to secretly challenge the eligibility of at least 2,000 voters he claimed were suspected of being noncitizens.
