Donald Trump's lap dogs on the Kennedy Center board voted 20-3 to put the wannabe dictator's name back on the Kennedy Center facade in direct defiance of a federal court of appeals ruling that only Congress can change the once-venerable institution's name. Trump himself called into the meeting, so you can imagine how THAT conversation went. One of the few dissenting board members, Rep. Joyce Beatty, said, "This latest development is a transparent effort to circumvent the Court’s ruling, and flies in the face of the statutes that Congress passed. I will continue to fight for this treasured national monument."
While this may seem like a petty effort to indulge Trump's insatiable ego, it's actually a very, very serious dip-of-the-toes into the black, fetid water of judicial defiance. This is how it starts: Trump ignoring a judge to put his name on a wall. If he succeeds, he'll try it again, and the stakes will get progressively more and more serious. This needs to be squashed NOW.

Multiple sailors have literally tried to jump overboard or otherwise harm themselves to escape the hellish conditions.

We'll give 'em this much: Republicans are never not laser focused on doing everything in their power to make the lives of their wealthiest benefactors ever sweeter.
During a GOP policy discussion where Republicans were apparently workshopping messaging on just how badly they've handled the economy, Rep. Glenn Grothman of Wisconsin had this to say, out loud, for voters to hear: "Don’t let anybody tell you that people running, uh, Congress right now are looking out for the rich. Actually, I think we should do a little more for them, but, you know, right now, uh, we are doing all we can to help the middle class, right?"
Uh, wrong. But don't take our word for it. Just have a quick look at Trump's current polling on the economy. Ouch.

Trump orders Pentagon to redesign US aircraft carrier to use steam catapults to launch jets
One of Donald Trump's more bizarre obsessions is his belief that the electromagnetic catapults used by aircraft carriers to launch aircraft are somehow inferior to the steam launchers used in the past, and now he's trying to turn back the clock by ordering the Navy to spend billions of dollars to retrofit the under-construction USS Doris Miller and go back to the old ways.
Recounting a conversation he had about modern catapults in 2017, Trump said, "It sounded bad to me. Digital. They have digital. What is digital? And it’s very complicated, you have to be Albert Einstein to figure it out."
Words cannot describe how colossally stupid and wasteful this is. This is like ordering the Army to retire their automatic rifles in favor of muskets, or replacing modern jets with biplanes, or replacing trucks with horse carts. Someone please take the keys away from this demented lunatic, ASAP!

The New York Times reports that the Department of Homeland Security opened probes into labor unions, a climate change organization, socialist groups, and other organizations to find out if they had aided protesters, whom the government called "violent opportunists and agitators," against the administration’s crackdown in Minnesota.
When practicing fascism, it's imperative to look everywhere except in the mirror for someone to blame.
