PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) forever chemicals are extensively contaminating Massachusetts lands, waters, air, plants, and wildlife. The health and environmental risks will continue to escalate as long as we keep making, using, and disposing of products made with PFAS.
H.2450 / S.1504 An Act to protect Massachusetts public health from PFAS (sponsored by Representative Hogan and Senator Cyr) is a comprehensive bill that, among other things, bans PFAS in several categories of consumer products, controls industrial discharges of PFAS to water and air, and sets up a fund to help test and treat private wells and public water systems for PFAS.
Passing this bill would significantly reduce our exposure to toxic PFAS and prevent drinking water contamination from getting worse.
Ask the Public Health Committee to support this important bill:
Submitting written testimony demonstrates the importance of PFAS protections and that our legislators must act now. Please consider adding a sentence or two about why you want to see action on PFAS and other toxics. Legislators tell us that personalized emails are particularly impactful, and there is value in them hearing from large numbers of people from across the state.
In solidarity,
