The Saga of Josh Hawley’s So-Called “Bus Tour”

This is exactly why Missourians can’t trust Hawley to represent our state in the U.S. Senate for another six years.

Last week, Josh Hawley kicked off what his campaign said would be a two-week-long bus tour of Missouri. That’s not what ended up happening at all — and as it turns out, his so-called “bus tour” devolved into a total media fiasco.

Please let me explain.

Earlier this month, after 55 days without holding a single public campaign event in Missouri, Josh Hawley was caught literally jetting around on a one-day tour of the state with Harrison Butker.

He was caught on video twice. And since Hawley made bashing private flights a pillar of his 2018 campaign, local press was all over the story:

The very next week, Hawley’s campaign announced a two week bus tour.

They started on Monday, diligently posting photos of each stop along the way. They did the same thing on Tuesday, and Wednesday too.

Then came Thursday.

On Thursday morning, people started posting sightings of Josh Hawley’s bus, which was illegally taking up six spaces in a private parking lot in St. Louis County — tow notices stickered to the windshield and everything.

This is when chaos ensued.

The bus didn’t move for hours. The windshield accumulated more tow notices.

Here’s what happened next:

This saga is exactly why Missourians can’t trust Hawley to represent our state in the U.S. Senate for another six years.

Hawley thinks he’s above the law. He thinks that if he does something illegal, he should be able to get away with it — even if any one of us could go to jail for the same thing. We saw it in that private parking lot — and we saw it when he broke transparency laws and forced Missouri taxpayers to pay his $250,000 fine.

Hawley can’t tell the truth. Whether it’s blaming someone else for his own mistake or even lying about his own record, we can’t trust Hawley to be honest with us about anything — no matter how trivial.

And finally, Hawley doesn’t even want to be here. In fact, he couldn’t even bear to spend more than three days at a time in Missouri.

This election is our opportunity to vote him out.

Missourians already know that Josh Hawley is a fraud and a coward who only serves himself. That’s why he’s the most vulnerable GOP U.S. Senator up for re-election this November.

If we’re able to reinforce that message every day between now and November 5th, I know we can win this race and take back Missouri’s U.S. Senate seat. And I’m counting on your help to do it.
