We CANNOT abandon Ukraine

 

Yesterday, Trump’s Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, signaled to officials in Paris that he’s ready to abandon Ukraine.

He told reporters that "If it is not possible to end the war in Ukraine, we need to move on."

This is utterly unacceptable.

America does not abandon its allies. We do not look away when dictators try to redraw borders by force. And we do not stand idly by while democracy is under siege — here or anywhere.

Trump has never cared about Ukraine — unless it benefits him. I saw this firsthand nearly six years ago when I blew the whistle on his abuse of power. He threatened to withhold military aid unless President Zelenskyy helped him smear his political enemies. Now that he’s back in power — and more emboldened than ever — he’s openly blaming Ukraine for the war Putin started.

It’s outrageous.

If Congress caves to Trump’s agenda, it will signal to the world that invading sovereign nations and toppling democracies is okay.

I refuse to let that happen. I am going to lead this fight, but going after Trump — again — puts an even larger target on my back. He and his allies are already plotting their revenge. I need to know you’ve got my back in this fight.

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind. We won our primary election and got an official Republican opponent. Trump attacked me personally at a rally in Virginia. And we faced our first official deadline of the general election.

Throughout those critical moments, my team and I reached out to you countless times, asking you to support or donate to my campaign for Congress.

It is people like you who are the reason we will be able to post the strongest fundraising numbers we could’ve after yesterday's FEC deadline.
