The Trump administration is planning a massive expansion of ICE’s detention system, and taxpayers like you would foot the bill.

Leaked documents obtained by the ACLU reveal a sweeping effort to detain more than 100,000 immigrants every day by vastly expanding ICE’s detention network. This includes new contracts with private prison corporations like GEO Group and CoreCivic, who profit from human suffering while delivering horrifying conditions and little accountability. And now, the Trump administration is asking Congress to approve $175 billion in new ICE funding to make it all happen.

We cannot allow our taxpayer dollars to bankroll a cruel, bloated immigration system that enriches private companies and rips families apart.

The U.S. Postal Service is under attack—again—by President Donald Trump and the world's biggest billionaire conman, Elon Musk. Trump's plans to take over the post office and sell it off for parts would be disastrous for people across the country.1 In fact, it could effectively end rural postal service for the millions of people that depend on it, and dramatically raise costs for everyone else. During Trump's first term, people came together across the country to fight back against his reckless attempts to privatize the post office.2 And we were successful. Protests were launched from coast to coast, and we saved this trusted and necessary service that everyday people rely on. We can—and must—do it again. Millions of working-class people rely on the Postal Service for their medications, food, voting, and everyday needs. It is a service that we the people own, and we will fight to keep it that way. News reports signal that Trump is planning to take over the U.S. Postal Service, dissolve the independent agency, fire the bipartisan governing board, and sell off the profitable parts.3 This has been Trump's plan all along. For years, he has wanted to bankrupt the Postal Service and allow private equity firms and global corporations to privatize the service and allow billionaires to further profit off of the American people. And let's be clear: Privatizing the post office would essentially end guaranteed mail service for every American. Some members of the U.S. Postal Service board of governors are reportedly ready to fight back against Trump’s seizure of the department.4 We have to be ready too. Add your name to the petition NOW! The post office is also how we get messages from our loved ones—postcards, letters, and gifts that connect us to the important people in our lives. And for the 129,000 rural mail carriers who deliver to 50 million residential mailboxes across the country, they are more than just postal workers—they are lifelines.5 Mail carriers, especially in rural places, are deeply invested in their communities and work, day in and day out, to keep their neighbors connected—to each other and the world. Dear MoveOn member,

The Trump administration's assault on our fundamental rights to free speech and protest is escalating, with the president recently ordering to have a protester arrested without cause.¹ Columbia University graduate student Mahmoud Khalil was taken from his home unlawfully by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), without a warrant and despite his status as a permanent resident. And, if President Trump gets his way, Khalil's arrest and possible deportation would be the first of many.²

Our government going on a crusade to arrest a permanent resident—with no evidence and no due cause—is terrifying. If it could happen to Khalil, it could happen to anyone. Will you sign the petition?

Amid cries of outrage and protest, U.S. District Judge Jesse Furman blocked Khalil's deportation—for now. But his security is in limbo, and he remains detained as the courts determine what will happen next. Meanwhile, his eight-month-pregnant wife and his friends worry about Khalil's safety and future—anxious for him to return home to New York City from Louisiana where he was transferred.³

Khalil's case exposes the brutal reality of Trump's attacks on our fundamental rights—a deliberate crackdown on people exercising their First Amendment rights. This isn't about just one person; it's about defending our right to dissent and protest. And if we don't fight back, it will only escalate.

By revoking Khalil's permanent status solely for political reasons, Trump is setting a dangerous and disturbing precedent, leaving activists across social movements vulnerable. Right now, Trump is targeting pro-Palestinian-rights activists. But tomorrow it could be those fighting for LGBTQ+ rights, climate justice, or abortion access. No one who speaks out is safe from his overreach.

Trump is testing the extent of his executive powers and his ability to intimidate and instill fear in everyday people who dare to speak out and protest. That's why we need to speak out and stop him here and now.

Trump is also weaponizing federal funding to attack universities, using last year's student protests as a pretext for yet another round of brutal public service cuts. He recently threatened funding for more than 60 colleges and universities, with Columbia University—where Khalil studied—among the top targets. The administration has already canceled $400 million in federal funding for Columbia, punishing the university for allowing students to speak out.⁴

Let's be clear: This isn't about safety or creating welcoming campuses. If Trump cared about that, he wouldn't be gutting the very resources that protect students. This is yet another power grab—a way to divide everyday people, silence dissenters, gut our public programs, and strip away our rights. We won't allow it.

Trump doesn't get to decide who gets to protest and exercise their right to free speech. Will you sign the petition?

Republicans have frequently abused the First Amendment to evade accountability for their own hate speech, while simultaneously pushing for restrictions like book bans.⁵ It's clear that they are willing to say and do anything, including sell out the civil and constitutional rights of everyday people, in order to align themselves with Trump.⁶

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez warned, "Anyone—left, right, or center—who has highlighted the importance of constitutional rights and free speech should be sounding the alarm now."7 And that is exactly what we intend to do.

The Tesla Cybertruck is a disaster waiting to happen—and federal regulators must act before someone gets seriously injured or killed. From malfunctioning accelerators to panels falling off during operation, the Cybertruck has been plagued with safety defects since the moment it hit the road.

Tesla just had to pause deliveries due to reports of serious mechanical failures, and one expert compared the Cybertruck’s safety performance to that of the infamous Ford Pinto—an alarming warning about the risks this vehicle poses.

Now, reports indicate that Cybertrucks fail to meet basic pedestrian safety standards in countries like the UK, where they have been banned from the roads. Yet here in the United States, these dangerous vehicles remain on our roads putting drivers, passengers and pedestrians at risk. That’s unacceptable.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has a duty to ensure that all vehicles on U.S. roads meet strict safety standards. Given the growing number of reports about Cybertruck defects and safety failures, NHTSA must immediately launch a full investigation and order a nationwide recall of all Tesla Cybertrucks until these issues are resolved.

Elon Musk’s rush to market cannot come at the expense of public safety. Join us in demanding that NHTSA acts now to protect drivers, passengers, and pedestrians alike.

This is a dark moment in our history. But we've been here before and blocked and reversed some of Donald Trump's worst policies. Now, we must come together and do it again.

Amid uncertainty and fear, we are sure of one thing: We will continue to show up for each other. Millions of people share our vision for a different future that we are still unequivocally committed to seeing through.

We aren't giving up, and we must demand that Democrats in Congress stand with us to do everything in their power to shut down Trump's Project 2025 agenda every step of the way.

Our elected leaders need to show up with political courage to fight back against every policy, every nomination, and every bill that threatens our collective future. Will you sign the petition?

We know what we're up against. Trump and MAGA Republicans have already shown us their playbook. And Project 2025—their "180-day transition playbook"—could destroy the checks and balances of our government and pave the way for Trump's authoritarian rise to power.

America's imperfect democracy has never been a given and has always been hard-fought. Trump and the MAGA movement did not rise out of nowhere—they were born out of white supremacist backlash against the decades of progress our communities have mobilized around and won. This election has been devastating. People are scared, exhausted, and angry. We get it. People have spent years resisting Trump and MAGA's attempts to roll back our rights and freedoms. We have had to endure their constant attacks against our communities and loved ones, sowing division and stoking hate. Trump has unearthed the worst of our country, but that is not the only truth of our country.

MAGA Republicans have gutted the Voting Rights Act. They spread misinformation and propaganda. And they eroded the public's trust in our political system.¹

And still. Millions of people support our progressive vision of the world. Together, we are powerful. And we won't give up on us or the possibilities of this country.

We still live in a democracy. But Project 2025 wants to change that.

Project 2025 will further erode abortion access, implement mass deportations, reverse birthright citizenship, roll back LGBTQ+ rights, and dismantle public education.² Disturbingly, it seeks to give Trump control over currently independent federal agencies, like the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation.³

But it gets even worse.

There's a "fourth pillar" that the architects of Project 2025 have refused to release that could completely overhaul the executive branch of government.⁴ We have to be prepared NOW.

Trump and MAGA Republicans want us to feel defeated. But we sit on the shoulders of giants who have endured the worst of this country and still fought for its promise. This is a dark chapter in U.S. history. But together, we can make sure it's not the final chapter.

Trump and MAGA's hateful and authoritarian vision for the U.S. should be met with the resistance it deserves, and the communities that are under attack deserve to know that we will continue to show up and fight back against the worst of this administration.
