AG Campbell Pushes for More Affordable Housing

Andrea Campbell for Attorney General

Housing is an issue AG Campbell hears about often. The cost of housing is too high and there's not enough housing. The Boston Globe recently reported the median cost of a home is 900,000 dollars. Almost one million dollars to buy a house!

If we want Massachusetts to be a place where everyone can affordably live, work, and grow their families we must tackle the housing affordability crisis. AG Campbell has taken some direct steps to do that:

  • Enforced the MBTA Communities act to increase housing stock around MBTA stations.
  • Created the Housing Affordability Unit and recently named Esme Caramello as the unit’s director to advance affordable and multi-family housing across the Commonwealth.
  • Updated guidance on manufactured housing which provides critical living communities for our most vulnerable populations.

And the work does not end there. AG Campbell will continue to push the state legislature to do what they can to increase housing stock. YOU can also help AG Campbell in making housing more affordable.

Email, call or text your elected officials and ask them to make it easier to build affordable housing. You can also give $5, $10 or $15 to help support AG Campbell in spreading the word on how she will continue to expand availability of affordable housing.
