Top Congressional Democrats Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries joined with House GOP Speaker Mike Johnson and Mitch McConnell to invite Benjamin Netanyahu to give a speech to Congress. And it’s unclear where some Democratic party leaders stand on Netanyahu’s speech, even as the Israeli military bombs civilian tent camps and kills tens of thousands of Palestinians. It’s clear where Bernie stands. Bernie said Netanyahu’s speech is a terrible idea and that he would boycott the speech.  Netanyahu has led the onslaught on the Palestinian people, cut off aid, and broken international humanitarian law. No Democrat should show up to his speech and Schumer should make every effort to stop this speech. Add your name: Majority Leader Schumer and all Democrats should OPPOSE Netanyahu giving a speech before Congress! Bernie is as clear as anyone when it comes to Netanyahu.  Netanyahu’s atrocities in Gaza have become a cynical political tool for Republicans like Mike Johnson. The GOP cares more about logging political points than taking any sort of moral position on what the Israeli military is doing in Gaza. The leader of war crimes in Gaza, destruction, and mass starvation has no place in front of Congress. There’s no doubt Netanyahu will use a Congressional speech to spread lies and lash out at Democrats, just like he did the last time he addressed Congress. It’s exactly what Republicans want and Democrats should fight it at every turn. It shouldn’t just be Bernie saying he’ll boycott a Netanyahu speech to Congress, it’s all Democrats — especially the Democrat leading in the Senate, Chuck Schumer.
