Tuesday’s Great News That’s Horrible For Trump

Tuesday’s Great News That’s Horrible For Trump

Onward!

It’s another Tuesday of Trump proving time and time again that his brain is broken, and that he’s completely unfit for office. So I’m happy to be able to share more good news today. I hope it gives you some relief, and shows you there are so many awesome people united with us in our fight against this wannabe-dictator.

A federal appeals court yesterday denied Trump’s attempt to halt the rehiring of fired federal workers. A judge had previously ruled the terminations were unlawful, and that thousands of former employees must be reinstated. In that case, the judge wrote: “the government has wholly failed to argue there is any other way to avoid the irreparable injuries flowing from the unlawful terminations except to reinstate the employees.”

All across America, we’re seeing the opposition rise up to resist Trump, and it’s getting stronger every day.

MAINE: IT'S TIME FOR GOP SEN. SUSAN COLLINS TO RETIRE!

SEE INDIVISIBLE PORTLAND (MAINE) !

In Maine, the organization Indivisible Portland held an event on Sunday and called out GOP Sen. Susan Collins—who reportedly hasn’t held a town hall of her own in 25 years. Marie Follaytar slammed Collins, saying: “People need answers ... Things are just moving too fast, and they're out of touch with their elected officials who basically are sending form letters and not explaining their votes.”

And yesterday in Oregon, more than 300 constituents attended a town hall hosted by elected Dems, to give a voice to recently fired federal employees. Veteran Shawn McMurtrey, a plant scientist who was fired from his job at the US Department of Agriculture, said: “This is not the America I swore an oath to protect … I am not a waste of money. My fellow employees and Veterans are not a waste of money.”

Many of our awesome readers are taking part in these events, including Laura who mentioned she “was at the local Santa Rosa Tesla protest on Saturday.” Laura estimated there were “500-600 folks. Cars horns, signs waving. Wonderful community.”

Another fantastic reader, Jeri, took part in a nationwide effort to send postcards to The White House on Saturday. Jeri told me: “Our local post office sold out of pre-stamped postcards as well as postcard stamps!!! … Our small group of 8 wrote for just over an hour and sent out 136!” Well done to Jeri and their crew!

Today, the Democratic Party is leading a “Medicaid Day of Action,” with rallies, town halls, and letter-writing drives planned across the country. Leader Hakeem Jeffries said they are pushing back “against the diabolical Republican scheme to enact the largest Medicaid cut in our nation’s history … We will partner with our colleagues at every level of government to protect the American people.”

Republicans, meanwhile, continue to get clobbered for their fealty to Trump.

GOP Rep. Michael Baumgartner held 2 town halls just yesterday in Eastern Washington, and neither went well for him. At the first event, he was met with boos after disparaging Ukrainian President Zelensky.

At the second event, Baumgartner faced one of the angriest crowds I’ve seen this year, featuring hundreds of fired up and very loud patriots. The first question asked what he would do “to enforce the law if Trump ignores court orders?” The crowd responded with a loud applause, and when the Rep. tried to weasel out of the question, everyone was absolutely livid.

GOP Rep. Kevin Kiley from California, who refuses to hold in-person town hall events, did a telephone town hall instead—and it backfired spectacularly. Just a few minutes into it, more than 25,000 angry constituents had called in—which hung up on many people from the call, and locked others out.

Lastly, today we are launching our campaign to push Congress to impeach Trump. We know this won’t happen anytime soon, but we have to start somewhere—and the sooner the better. When we ran our first impeachment campaign starting 8 years ago, it took a while to push for the votes and publicly garner support. We built a coalition of activists, journalists, celebrities, etc. And we’re more than ready to do it again.

That’s exactly why we formed our activism arm—The Watchdog Coalition—to run massive campaigns like these, while delivering the news to you daily. Our group has tens of thousands of members who’ve already sent more than 219,000 letters, and made countless calls to the House and Senate.

Our social media following is one of the largest in all of politics, which we use to push our unmatched messaging campaigns to protect Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security. And unlike corporate media, we’ll never back down to Trump.

We have no outside investors, and we remain ad-free. Which means 100% of our funding comes from our paid subscribers on Substack.

If you got a chance to ask your Rep. or Senators a question at a town hall, what would it be?
