Republicans continue their effort to disenfranchise Pennsylvania voters

  • The Republican National Committee (RNC) filed two more lawsuits in Pennsylvania to block the counting of undated and wrongly dated mail-in ballots, in Centre and Philadelphia counties.

    • A Pennsylvania judge dismissed the one lawsuit brought by the RNC and David McCormick challenging the counting of three mail-in ballots in Centre County. The GOP withdrew its contest against two ballots, the judge dismissed the third.

  • The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and incumbent Sen. Bob Casey’s (D) campaign moved to intervene in a separate case before Pennsylvania’s highest court. They’re arguing that the undated and wrongly dated mail-in ballots should be counted, or else it would violate the state constitution.

  • In all, this week the RNC filed four lawsuits in Pennsylvania in an effort to block wrongly dated and undated mail-in ballots from being counted, just as the incredibly tight U.S. Senate race between McCormick and Casey heads toward a recount.
