Given the way Trump-appointed judge Aileen Cannon had been presiding over the criminal trial of the very defendant who gave her a lifetime appoint as a federal judge, it was crystal clear she would find a way to dismiss the federal criminal case against Trump.
Within hours of the unjustifiable dismissal, Special Counsel Jack Smith issued a rare public statement that he would be appealing the dismissal.
Notably, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals - the court that will take up the appeal - already reversed Judge Cannon previously, ruling that she abused her judicial discretion by doing something to the extreme benefit of Trump that the law does not allow. In the even she is reversed yet again, it may finally provide enough evidence to have her removed from the case permanently, and have a fair, independent, impartial judge assigned to preside over Trump's Florida federal prosecution.
