How federal law enforcement should respond to the attack on Speaker Pelosi's husband Paul Pelosi

A man named David DePape has been arrested for attacking Paul Pelosi, husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in the Pelosi family home. Reports indicate the attacker was looking for Speaker Pelosi. Further reporting indicates that DePape is the author of a blog "filled with deeply racist and antisemitic writings - as well as pro-Trump posts . . . " This apparently politically-inspired attack brings into full focus one unassailable law enforcement truth: to bring down organized crime, we must prosecute the mob boss, the kin pin, not just the underlings. Donald Trump behaves like a mob boss, a king pin. He recruits people to do his dirty work. Trump recruited the foot soldiers of the insurrection ("stand back and stand by," "come to DC, will be wild," "fight like hell or you won't have a country any more," "go to the US Capitol and stop the steal.") Trump continues to recruit foot soldiers with speeches at his rallies and his violence-centric social media posts. Trump's language, conduct, and behavior is designed to produce exactly what happened on January 6 and what just happened to Paul Pelosi. Unless we prosecute the mob boss, the king pin, this kind on violence will continue. Here is what Law enforcement must do to put a stop Trump's incessant recruiting mission.
