Mitch McConnell, have you no shame?

BREAKING: A Mitch McConnell Super PAC just reserved almost $70 million worth of TV ads to save his seat and keep Republicans in control of the Senate.¹

McConnell knows that Donald Trump's bungling of the coronavirus pandemic response could wipe out Republicans in November. So he's getting ready to do what he has always done: buy the election by blanketing the airwaves with lies.

Listen, even before the coronavirus pandemic, this was the most important election of our lives. American democracy simply cannot survive another four years of Trump and McConnell. But now, our democracy, our economy, and for millions of Americans in high-risk categories, our very health and survival are on the line.

We must win this election, and MoveOn and our army of online volunteers are perfectly positioned to play the decisive role this fall. Our team is already working on the tools we will need to run an entire "work from home" campaign, and we're counting on your help to make sure we have the resources to pull it off. Trump's handling of the coronavirus pandemic has been a disaster. But McConnell's hasn't been any better.

First, he proposed a relief bill that gave half a trillion dollars to a slush fund for corporations while giving the poorest Americans $600 or less.

Then, as the pandemic threatened to spiral completely out of control, McConnell took the weekend off, flew home to Kentucky, and joined Brett Kavanaugh at an event celebrating the confirmation of the latest unqualified, right-wing Trump judge—recklessly risking spreading the virus and delaying the congressional response to the pandemic.

Finally, last night, thanks to Democrats standing strong, the Senate passed a bill that will deliver some help to laid-off workers and frontline doctors and nurses desperately in need of medical supplies.

But with unemployment numbers soaring beyond anything since the Great Depression, it's not enough. Critical needs remain unmet, and McConnell's half-trillion-dollar slush fund could allow corporations to waste desperately needed money.

We will never beat McConnell's Super PACs dollar for dollar, but we don't have to. MoveOn has proven time and again that our army of volunteers, armed with the most cutting-edge campaign technology, can beat their dishonest campaign ads.

Because much of the country may still be under lockdown orders this summer and fall, campaigns will not be able to organize in-person events or canvass door to door as we have in the past. But no one has more experience and success leveraging the power of the internet to contact voters, mobilize volunteers, and win than MoveOn.
