Elon Musk is so dense light bends around him.
Let’s remember the mismanagement when Florida gets hit with hurricanes and floods.
Let's also remember the mismanagement in the 2021, when Texas failed to address their power grid issues, blamed the outages on renewable energy while nearly 300 people died, and Turd Cruz absconded to Cancun because he couldn't deal with the cold. Agreed. It was that, and the failure to winterize power sources that ultimately led to this completely foreseeable, and at the very least mitigatable, if not preventable disaster, with the blame placed squarely on the Texas state government.
You can prevent some forest fires. The recent CA wildfires, fueled by unprecedented windstorms were also probably preventable if policymakers took anthropogenic climate change seriously.
It is is dumb to refuse to pay attention. All the standard fire protection requirements were in place-and intensified ,the greatest winter downpour in history stimulating growth was followed by the driest period in history which was followed by the strongest winds in history. Hurricane intensity and frequency is related to ocean temperatures which are rising due to climate change (like the wildfires and climate change!!!!)
1. How is it you prevent all forest fires? Would you clear all the forests in the state? Would you keep them but somehow outlaw the atmospheric phenomenon called lightning? 2. Is all hurricane damage unpreventable? Are you suggesting there hasn't ever been levee upkeep errors, late and insufficient evacuation efforts, a subpar effort at flood mitigation infrastructure? Here's a bit of trivia for you: did you know that statistical models produced at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory estimate Hurricane Helene, which killed 225 people, dropped up 50% more rain due to climate change? Huh, it's almost like we could have done something to reduce and/or prevent hurricane-induced flooding. 3. Are you sure you're the best judge of what is dumb? I'm unconvinced.
California has 4 times the GDP of Florida.
You can't prevent all forest fires. There was unprecedented hurricane force winds, extremely low humidity, and a historic drought. Those conditions are NOT controllable, just like hurricanes. These factors came together in a perfect storm. As for FL building code standards were lowered, so much coastal building disrupts natural barriers and increases a storms effect. Allowing homes to be built in low lying areas is preventable. Why doesn't FL build in a way that will minimize the destructiveness of hurricanes. You want to talk about dumb? Saying there were not hurricane winds and a drought going on in Cali. Also using the peoples suffering as a political stunt. Threatening no aid unless you bow down.. Yeah sick.
Science is a tough one for most Republicans.
Elon is the definition of "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt"
Elon should now give his insight into why Texas seems to be the only power grid in America that can never stay on during a snowstorm…
WAIT WAIT WAIT!! I'm a retired electronic engineer, Leon doesn't know shit about technology. He never worked as an engineer, never designed anything. He is a more toxic version of Steve Jobs. He got rich off the work of people like Steve Wozniak
Elon is also forgetting that Texas had the biggest wild fires in modern history in February 2024 that burnt over a million acres
If Ego Musk wanted to really help, he could donate some of his money instead of just shooting off his mouth.
As someone who lives in Northern California, and have dealt with all the big ones the past few years, Tubbs being the worst, I can say there is some truth with the lack of forest management. But specifically with these LA fires, no amount of forest management would have stopped them, the winds were carrying embers 1-3 miles away, fire breaks can't stop that.
Fire breaks with 100 mph winds?...lmao! 8 months with no rain and the Santa Ana (Devil Winds) blowing downhill causing it to spread to into the cities was unique and as a Pasadena resident, I've never seen the wind cause this type of destruction with trees and power lines down (it originated at a main power line in the hills the wind took down). They had to shut off the power to prevent more electrical fires and chances of electrocution. Thankfully the water pumps had emergency backups generators so it kept flowing, not that it mattered with the winds. The Palisades fire was residential and had nothing to do with forests.
Now David, you are using facts and logic, that’s not going to persuade President Elon or First Lady Donald.
