During Thursday night's debate, Donald Trump claimed that he never "had sex with a porn star," directly contradicting Stormy Daniels' account of the affair that the two engaged in many years ago. This is similar to his denial in the E. Jean Carroll defamation lawsuit, which could mean that Daniels may have enough fodder to go after Trump in court for lying about their relationship. Several other witnesses have confirmed Daniels' account, which means there's no shortage of evidence that Trump is lying about her claims. Farron Cousins explains how that could work. Please excuse any typos. At one point during Thursday night's presidential debate, Biden, of course, attacked Donald Trump for his legal problems, his criminal convictions. And of course, the fact that he had an affair with a porn star, uh, Biden incorrectly did say that it was while Melania was pregnant. It was not while she was pregnant. It was four months after Baron was born. But, you know, quibble about that all you want, that's not that big of a deal. He's right that Trump had the affair. And that's of course when President Biden told him that he has the morals of an alley cat, which wasn't a bad one-liner, if you ask me now, it was at that point that Donald Trump made a statement that he could end up regretting if Stormy Daniels chooses to act on it, because it was at that point when he was told that he has the morals of an Alley Kat, that Donald Trump responded and said, I didn't have sex with a porn star. That one statement is absolutely, again, if she chooses to take action, something that Stormy Daniels could sue Donald Trump for, for defamation. And the reason I say that is because if we look back at the Eugene Carroll defamation lawsuits against Donald Trump, those were very simple. She claimed that Donald Trump assaulted her in the changing room of the Bergdorf Goodman or whatever, boo. I don't know the name of it. But anyway, that department store in New York, uh, and he said, no, I didn't. She is a liar. That's it. That's what she sued over. Like, Hey, I said this. He calls me a liar. He has a huge audience. Now these people think that I'm lying. It affects my career, my future, all of that if I'm branded a liar. And she sued and won for defamation twice. It's almost the exact same situation here. Stormy Daniels wrote a book, talked about her affair. So her financial status does tie directly at this point to the claims that she made against Donald Trump. And Trump goes out there on that debate stage in front of millions of people watching at home and says, I didn't have an affair. I didn't have sex with a porn star. By saying that he is implying that she is lying. And that implication is absolutely something you could sue for defamation for, because if he is implying that she is a liar, that could affect book sales, it could affect future speaking, uh, uh, gigs. It could affect an acting career if she wants to go that path. All the same things basically with Eugene and Carroll, just, you know, different scenarios here. So yes, that statement from Donald Trump is an actionable statement, is what we would call that. The big question is, does Stormy Daniels actually want to do something about it? Obviously, this was the biggest stage in the United States on Thursday. You know, this was a, an event watched by millions of people at home, and Donald Trump implied to millions of people that she is a liar. It's not like he only put it on true social. It's not like he said it at a rally. He said it on national television with the public's attention. So if she wants to go that route, I think this is a winnable case. I think she could absolutely knock it out of the park with this and hit Donald Trump for future damages that she may suffer as a result of his lie, because the courts have pretty much already said, you did this. I mean, why else would you pay her $130,000 that you've now been convicted for? Right? That doesn't make sense. You're gonna pay off a woman to stay quiet, even though she has nothing to say. Hmm. The facts are against Donald Trump in this case. The law seems to be on Stormy Daniel's side. So again, if she wants to go that route, probably not a bad idea.
