SF Examiner: ‘Chesa Boudin Derangement Syndrome’ grips S.F. politics

A new op-ed out in the San Francisco Examiner puts it clearly: The Republicans funding the anti-Chesa recall are suffering from ‘Chesa Boudin Derangement Syndrome.’

Supporters of the recall portray Chesa as the root of all ills. Every crime trend -- even those pre-dating his tenure -- is blamed on him.

"Car burglarized? Blame Boudin. Walgreens and CVS closing hundreds of stores nationwide? Boudin’s fault. National fentanyl epidemic. Thanks Boudin. Police not making enough arrests? Boudin hurt their morale.”
—The San Francisco Examiner

The recall efforts would have you believe that Chesa’s mere presence in office for just two years is responsible for decades of societal failure.

Addiction, crime, and poverty has existed in San Francisco for 150 years before Chesa was elected with a mandate to reform the system and stop crime before it starts.

Chesa’s election signaled a key victory for the national movement to elect more progressive prosecutors. And he’s drawn the ire of police when he followed through on his campaign promise to prosecute police brutality.

We recommend you read the full op-ed about ‘Chesa Boudin Derangement Syndrome’ here.

But for now, with supporters of the recall spending lavishly to promote false narratives about Chesa’s tenure, we need your help. Can you donate $20 or more to help us continue the fight for criminal justice reform?

Republican mega-donors like William Oberndorf want to reshape the city of San Francisco in their own image. We can’t let that happen.

Thanks for your support,

Team Chesa Boudin

Chesa Boudin was elected District Attorney of San Francisco in 2019 to reform our criminal justice system. Now, right-wingers  want to reverse our progress and return our city to a time when innocent people were locked away and police acted with impunity.

Please chip in today to keep up the fight to reform San Francisco's criminal justice system.
